Hey there..

Just a quick question about file size (in this case: WFT size), is there any limit for openIV or is that a game limit not to be exceeded? WFT above 12MB* to be exact.

*(don't ask why and yes we all know the game is not made for such big files and yes, we know it is not necessary at all, just for those lame people who criticise anything and everything which are out there wink.gif I'm just interested.)

Threepwood, theoretically max possible size of one resource file is 256 Mb. This is game engine limit, not OpenIV.
For WFT you also need to consider limits of geometries, vertexes, polygons etc...

Yes I know about the poly limits etc. We just came across that limit trying to build a super-detailled high poly vehicle with more detail anyone ever tried. But above 12megs the game does not start anymore, so we try to find the problem.
Deleting random objects to get below 12 megs is the only way to let the game work, no matter WHICH object you delete. So at least we know its not the objects themselves.
So if I understand you right, OIV and the game would not limit it? So it may be the filter of ZModeler?

Yes, it can be error in zModeler algorithms.
You can send your model (WFT) to me, and I will check this.

Can I include a choice of several similar games with different modifications, so as not to go into the settings and change the way every time

Under the buttons 1 2 3 mean different places installations of the same game

You can't create animations with Animation viewer.

Both are created by using UV Texture animation.

I don't have IV:SA, so can you tell what file you are trying to open? And maybe send it to me.

With a 2 MB model (WFT) of yacht i once tested on IV:SA , it would crash every time it's seen. Maybe it was a bad model but once i reduced it's size to below 1MB, game worked flawlessly

Basically, i wouldn't make any WFT larger than 1,2 MB in size.

Thanks for the reply GooDNTS. smile.gif

I meant animations created elsewhere either than in Open IV animation Viewer.

Since research in animation might lead on to research where we can create custom animation. smile.gif

Just recently wrote about it, well, you're cool! I also want to say that all the music in your videos all the time like the music from Bully, where similar tracks played.

EDIT!!!anuj_cop.gif

A couple of suggestions

1)When replacing or editing the texture, keeping the entire list of files flies to the top and you have to scroll all the back to the desired file

2)In GGMM (Gta Garage Mod Manager) for 3\vc\sa was a convenient feature in the form of install of transport

It consisted of the window's

user posted image

It identifies the features and files to replace

The files then openiv can be easily replaced but with a lot of hassle these characteristics, may be possible to simplify all confusion with the installation of transport, and more specifically with the change files

carcols.dat
handling.dat
vehicles.ide

carcols.dat
handling.dat
vehicles.ide

Already done in 1.4 version.

OpenIV Package Installer is made for easier car and mods installation.

EDIT! AGAIN?anuj_cop.gif

user posted image

Kind of an odd question. But is there an explenation WHY the IDE 'no shadows' flag doesn't work with models with gta_trees shader?? It projects shadows no matter what you do, untill you replace the trees shader with something else.

@B@ND!T I think Package Installer is good enough for all purposes. For all currently existing mod someone can make a converter into .OIV format. I will not make additional tools for installing specific mods (like cars), Package Installer is universal tool.

Maybe it is just hard-coded or something like that.

Addon to the Invisible hair in Model Viewer bug in Max Payne 3, when I select Geometry and Edged faces, the polygons and vertices were there, but not the Hair texture. Just my 2 cents.

I think the focus is now making an emphasis on IV for some time, i would love to mod MP3 until V PC is out though , because graphics do come close one to another.

Possible that hair is an undefined shader in OpenIV.

I almost thought OpenIV is going to end (as in project going to be cancelled). orly.gif

The breakable object was shown in previous video, what is the point to show it again?
