load new textures for LS (like what happened with X-Mas)

That's what I originally heard, but then I heard from a few others that it was textures, so IDK.

 

@below - The idea was that it was using NY/pre-existing textures. Anyway, shader-based does seem more logical.

That's what I originally heard, but then I heard from a few others that it was textures, so IDK.

You can look into update and DLC files and you definitely will not see all new textures for entire Blaine county.

perfect dimention of V's maps , thx blaster and good ;)

 

I didn't look the files of gta V console  , so many questions

1) the waterfall in V ,  is just a mesh + animation  or a FX ?

2)the navmesh and nods  works almost like that gta IV ?

3) same to question 2 , for cols ,  composite , box and sphere are still in gta V ?

4) ide and wpl are still in gta V ?

  -  objs/tobjs/anim ... same as iv ?

  - base wpl /  stream and  strbigx  ?

5) rpf replace img in V , right ?

6)procedural  are still in gta V ? ( i think yes , but  we never know :) )

7) distantlights , same ?

I can answer a FEW

 

4. Its replaced by *.xtyp (ide) and *xmap (wpl). xtyp is now also binary, so no more editing in notepad

5. Yes, common files (such as handling.dat) are now in rpf too.

7. i hope it's a better system, distantlights.dat was a buttload of crap

 

Good will probably give a more detailed response.

Didn't looked at waterfalls yet.

I think navmesh - yes, pretty the same.
NODs have new Resource format, .#nd:

Of course they still here.

Here is no IDE and WPL/IPL for map anymore.

Instead of IDE now we have .#typ Resource/PSO-based binary format without names.
Instead of WPL/IPL - .#map Resource/PSO-based binary format.

Of course, here is still some IDE/IPL but they not used for map placement.

Yes, finally we have only one archive type which used for everything.

I'm sure they have made some changes:

Like other Resources (textures, collision, models etc) these can't be opened in notepad.

Will OpenIV work for GTA 5 in PC?

GTA 5 is using RAGE Engine while GTA 4 is using Renderware engine. I think its impossible.

Will OpenIV work for GTA 5 in PC?

GTA 5 is using RAGE Engine while GTA 4 is using Renderware engine. I think its impossible.

Both GTA IV and GTA V is using RAGE Engine.
And YES, OpenIV will work with PC version of GTA V.

Are you sure that your audio_misc.rpf is not corrupted somehow?
What size of your audio_misc.rpf?

Are you sure that your audio_misc.rpf is not corrupted somehow?
What size of your audio_misc.rpf?

 

2 039 808 kb or 1.94 gb

And LibertyV is just didn't open archive.

Would've probably be better if you have OpenIV display a message whenever a file is corrupted or in an invalid format rather than outright crash with an unhandled exception.

1 thing that i'd like to see is possibility to export pictures as .tga's so that i could immediately use the pics with zmodeler. would make modding with zmodeler a bit faster as the pics need to be .tga when one imports any model into zmodeler. :)

1 thing that i'd like to see is possibility to export pictures as .tga's so that i could immediately use the pics with zmodeler. would make modding with zmodeler a bit faster as the pics need to be .tga when one imports any model into zmodeler. :)

It is better to not use zModeler :)
We use D3DX API to export textures to all formats and it don't support export to TGA.
Using another API for TGA export will take too much resources but profit is little.
I recommend using the DDS format for working with textures.

Besides, you might as well want to try out Alexander Blade's OFIO scripts for Max. Only tried it once for a scooter mod, and while it does need some polishing/tweaking and some getting used to, it's a 'swell alternative to Zmodeler.

I...I..don't know. I know someone who uses it, and he isn't in school.

 

I myself obtained 3ds max through the less legal ways, cause I don't want to use the student version that reminds me with every file I open it's a student version. I also don't have 3000$ to spare.
