[IDEA] rockets on minigun

Hi,

I have an idea; that the minigun on the heli shoots rockets. I tried myself but it did not work. Maybey can someone els make it.

skarlaww thats not working, the heli explodes when i am trying to shoot.

ive tried to do this just after the game was out by editing weapon ststs but the dummies of the model are too close to its collision so youll always blow yoursself up.

ive also replaced the annihilator model with the one of the maverick, the dummies are a in a different place but still too close.

im waiting till we can edit models and put them back in the img, then it will work.

oh and, ive tested all vehicle component offsets in vehoff.csv cause i hoped that the fire offsets may be in there in some misc_1 dummy but no luck.


maybe you could change the fire offsets by script?

Can't you edit the minigun offset or the projectile offset rebel? I guess that will work out

Jes you can edit it. Look @ this:

need to find a way to make it detonate only after a set distance like nade launchers in cod4

If someone DOES make the chopper firing rockets I'd litterlary suck hi... I'd be very happy!
Just some thoughts, the firing rate should realistic, and make the miniguns on the chopper firing at a slower rate, and also firing the rockets at a higher speed of course, you want to be able to fly and shoot without flying into the rockets.

sadly all the offsets in the weapon file are only for visuals, for a firearm it says how niko should be holding it/where he should point it and for rockets it just tells the game how it should line up the projectile model so it looks right but the shot always comes from the same position, ive changed all values on all offsets by about 30, still the same.

I had rocket pods working, but only thing was is u have to set the physics force of the rocket to 5000 to make it get away without blowing up in ur face, and by doing that it then made the rocket not blup up when it hit stuff and made it bounce around of things for a while, anything under 5000 and the rocket blows in ur face

you need to change explodeimpactthreshold="0.25" and explodeimpactwithvehiclethreshold="0.05" so that the rocket doesnt rebound, both to zero should work IIRC
