Just use IVTracker, and you find everything easily.

Hey, that's a pretty nifty tool! Thanks for sharing!

What if the object does not have any words on it?

The statue I am looking for does not have any words on it.

Someone else told me the name of the statue is "Father Francis Patrick Duffy".

I have tried searching for each of those four words as they are above and lowercased.

"father" & "francis" returned some results, so did the word "statue". I still haven't found the object yet in SparkIV though.

Oh', btw ... when I click on a file name in IVTracker, it will not open up in SparkIV! I entered the full path to SparkIV in there:

C:\Users\[MY_USER_NAME]\Documents\SOFTWARE\GTA\SparkIV 0.6.3\SparkIV.exe

It opens up SparkIV. It just does not open up the Object related to the File Name in SparkIV. The error returned is:

Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\[MY_USER_NAME]\Documents\SOFTWARE\GTA\SparkIV 0.6.3\pc\data\maps\manhat\manhat05.img'.

I just could find a statue of Dr. Jeremiah James, but i guess it isn't the same as the one you're talking about.

Well and it couldn't not find the path cause in order to get it working, you need to copy the map folder in there, i always open it up manually, because i won't waste that much of my harddrive. icon14.gif

Very interesting! I understand now. If my understanding is correct ...
someone could just copy the contents of the ( SparkIV 0.6.3 ) folder into this folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV

Then someone would not have to copy the HUGE sub-folders like ( pc & common ) into the ( SparkIV 0.6.3 ) folder.

Yep, my understanding was correct! Copy contents of ( SparkIV ) folder into ( GTA IV ) folder and then when you click on an ( IVTracker ) search result it will open up in SparkIV.
If you don't want to copy the contents of ( SparkIV ) folder into your ( GTA IV ) folder because you don't want to mix the files and have to
sift through the ( SparkIV ) files to find the ( GTA IV ) files then just delete the ( SparkIV ) files whenever you need to.

It's really easy to un-mix the ( SparkIV ) files from the ( GTA IV ) files with a batch file.

I named mine ( _del_spark.bat ). Then just paste the following command lines in the file:

btw. I found the statue I was looking for. It is in this file:

pc\data\maps\manhat\manhat09.img ... ( ts_michelhot01_dc9.wdr )

I searched ( IVTracker ) for ( star ) because it's close to ( star junction ).

I found the opposing building at the south end of times square ( ts_tsone01_dc9.wdr ).

I noticed it had a ( ts_ ) prefix and figured it was because it was somewhere in ( times square )!

Then I just looked through every file with a ( ts_ ) prefix. I had probably seen it before but did not
notice the statue because the statue is included with the building that is closest to the statue.

So, now that I've found the statue ... how the heck do I edit it?

I wanted to simply replace the statue with some other object.

Looks like I can't do that now since the building and statue are part of the same structure in the same file.

I have heard there will be a Model Editor released soon. How would someone like me go about finding out when it's released?

Maybe it will be ZModeler2? But atm I'm pretty sure it only handles bikes and cars! ...

That's not possible. And because it's also illegal, modding support goes very slow... Although OpenIV and SparkIV initially had Xbox support, both authors removed it from their program.

I've been trying to change the background music playing in Roman's and Playboy X's apartments. It seems that they use Liberty Rock and Beat 102.7 radio stations respectively but without ads or DJ chatter. I'm not sure if anybody's interested in that but it could be fun to modify it with SparkIV. Gonna try it now. colgate.gif

UPDATE: I see no way to do it without destroying the whole radio station because the changes made to the subfiles render it useless. It also crashes the game when you use it in cars.

@aru: Hey, SparkIV is awesome, but can you add this feature please: For it to be able to export to Collada .dae format instead of, or aswell as, Valve Studiomdl Format? Now you (and other people here) will probably point me towards this awesome site: SparkIV 3D model Exporter
The problem is, that when you open certain files (With the SparkIV on the website mentioned above), although there a VERY few amount, they come up with this error:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I keep getting an error just for some reason it used to work but, now it just stopped?

Here is the error I clicked details on it:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

With the new version, I never had this problem. It worked two days ago and all. Now I get this straight before it launches:
