It's simple, I want to know how the Official Rockstar Games Patch for Grand Theft Auto IV on the PC has affected you, if you have even applied it.

Personally, I applied it, and it was the messiah to me. It has relieved almost all, or, at least all major (noticeable) bugs.

If you are still experiencing problems, will you please post your specs as follows...

Computer Specifications:
CPU: Clock Speed, Manufacturer, etc
GPU: Clock Speed, Manufacturer, and Driver Release Number
RAM: Total amount in MB
OS: Your Operating System, and number any service packs

Thank you for your time and cooperation.

With the patch applied texture quality set to High seems to work.

This patch broke my game!
I was able to decently play it unpatched by using that SpeedBoost program, now I cannot anymore!
Why, you ask!?
Well, first of all, my HUD flickers like f***ing crazy between keyboard buttons and Xbox360 buttons.
Second of all, my mouse has gone bananas! If I let it go, the camera revolves continuously around the player. If I press W to walk/run, it comes back to normal, but the camera revolving bug comes back when driving and it makes it impossible cu continue the game! sad.gif
I would like to see if this patch removed the missing texture issues, but, I CAN'T, because of the goddamn camera!!! I'll try reinstalling the mouse (Logitech MX1000). If that doesn't work, I'll ask Steam for a refund and get back to playing games that actually work!
SO:
Shame on you R*, shame on you M$! You released a bug filled game and a bug filled update! You are both incompetent!
I SWEAR TO NEVER BUY ONE OF YOUR FRIGGIN' GAMES AGAIN! Saints Row 2 sounds mighty nice right now...

The problem about getting disconnected from server still consists, very annoying as I'm not able to play multiplayer at all since it only keeps me connected for 1 minute. And to some servers I can't connect at all. The singleplayer works fine, they fixed the shadow flickering stuff.

Do you have any intelligence or even a brain? If so it would have occurred to you that you could just uninstall the patch and have things back to the way they were.

Still can't Launch. Same problem. Dos window - GTA 4 has encountered a problem. That's after a fresh install of Win XP pro with all the updates and 8.12 and the patch. THen I installed Crysis and it worked fine.

Athlon XP 2500
512 MB ATI/Sapphire Radeon
1.5 GB of Ram
Win XP SP3

Guess I'll have to upgrade it looks like. Thanks for nothing Rockstar

i'm not sure if it's attributed to the patch or my recent install of CacheBoost, but the game now play's incredibly smooth. used to be that after 30 minutes or so of play the frames would dip significantly, now, after three hours it keeps consistent fps.

hi

didn't installed the patch yet but wanted to know:

for those who installed it, have those promised fixes

" Overall savings to memory.
Graphic improvements to particle systems and mirrors"

become reality?

if someone can illustrate the second point with some pics, that would be great.

I have improved gameplay after applying this patch! +2-3 fps...ok, nothing major but an improvement.

Prior to the patch I could not see vehicle damage or deformation...now I can smile.gif
