Increasing pedestrians

Not that I can single out the search function to anything useful...


But is there a command or cfg edit to increase the pedestrian density?

Not yet, any config meddling ATM causes DRM issues, there are some modding things but I havent realy looked into it yet.

Mind you the way this thing plays right now more peds would end my CPU tounge.gif

I think this is what's going to keep on increasing the reality of the GTA series.. Can you imagine 10x more peds on screen - the feeling of a real living breathing city would be immence. I played with upping the car density to 100 last night and the feeling of life in the city was really strong. Says a lot for the game where just going for a stroll around certain parts of the city while the sun goes down is a real experience. The whole thing with bits of dirt flying along the road, the awesome lighting effects and the sound design really add's to it all.

Be amazing to see where this all leads to..

I'm pretty sure soon enough someone will be able to add more peds. Would be great working around popluar parts of LC and seeing lots of people there. Just loads of people smoking, on there fone, MP3/iPod and interacting. You can have a very fun killing spree to.. tounge.gif

Imagine the modding possibilities:

-planes
-added pedestrians
-added traffic (both peds and traffic smar, according to time of day)
-and all those things that we missed from the dumbass hype

i think planes will be hard to add tbh. I dont know why i just know it will be hard lol. If someone did a plane then beware of youtube vids everywhere of some idiots making twin towers and then crashing plane into them... Hope fully that wont be possible.

I'm more afraid that some smart guy might start making videos about idiots who for some reason think that:

a) 9/11 is OMG DON'T TLAK ABOUT IT THINK ABOUT ALL THE VICTIMS AND THEIR RELATIVES
b) it's somehow "cool" and anyone would have any incentive in the first place to create a dumbass video with you dying from plane crashes that do completely nothing to the environmental non-destructible model that a skyscraper is in GTA
c) it would somehow be a big deal.
d) how do YouTube caps of GTA IV affect how hard it is to include airplanes into GTA?


This truly deserves a facepalm.

I hope as many people as possible will make videos of towers going down in Liberty City and praise Allah.

I feel sorry for the families and all but get f*cking over it. Its done and if people keep gettting upset about it and worry about guess who f*cking wins...

If we show where over it and we can look back at it without causing contvasity then WE WIN. Postal the movie, watch it. Yea uwe Boll sucks at directing but he shows how much people care about all the this crap and makes a valid point

ok so how many more peds do you want? i think 10x would be overkill. i will try to start out with 5x.

EDIT: ok 5x peds still looks like too many. does about 75 peds per place/zone sound like too many or too few?

i am pretty sure it is popcycle.dat. also the weekend to weekday cycles seem to be the same. i may try to change that later on, like more people at industrial places on weekdays and more peds at recreation and fun places on week ends.

Well the mod is now done, for now. If anyone wants to try it out before I release it publicly please send me a pm. There is now many more people in almost every area. The mod will not affect special story scenarios, so you will only see the increase when you are NOT in a special mission.

I'll be getting the game soon, but from the looks of screenshots, there doesn't seem to look like there are enough pedestrians.

i can up the ped count, but you would need a core i-7 and a 4870x2 to run it smoothly. i can only get about 250ish until the game caps it out.

Yep. I was messing around last night and managed to increase the vehicle density in Star Junction successfully.

It is popcycle.dat to edit. I have been running around with 3 times as many peds and it looks very much like a busy city now. Peds everywhere. Make sure your pc can handle it though..
