The reason for getting my PS3 is for this game, and with a street date finally set in stone, it's jut getting better and better, Guerrilla Games are doing an outstanding job from what i've seen and Killzone is in my top 5 favorite games ever.

It's just going to be epic.

Everyone who owns a PS3 needs to get this game by the time it comes out.

Resistance 2 is just a tide-over for this. A game I've been waiting for a long time.

Decided to buy the first Killzone shortly after I saw the target render for Killzone 2 in 2005. I didn't really expect much after reading up on it, but I ended up thoroughly enjoying the original.

Been anticipating Killzone 2 ever since.

Yeah, this game has been in the works since 2005.

It's going to be a masterpiece no doubt about it.

I loved the first Killzone, especially the multiplayer. There were a bunch of different modes, some of the maps were very good, and the AI was wonderful for the time. Overall, it was very enjoyable, and if I had a PS3 I'd get Killzone 2 as well.

This game always looked awesome, was a bit of ashamed when in the first videos it looked a bit boring, but hope it comes out good. Played the demo of the first one and enjoyed it a lot, I finished killzone liberation on PSP and can't wait for this one, I hate though when there are so many games to get whatsthat.gif

It's like Sony's HALO. Except Killzone kicks all kinds of ass, including HALO's. No fanboism intended. Just speaking the truth.

I played the Killzone 1 demo ages and ages ago on the PS1 but at the time i wasn't a FPS fan (Probably only been into them for about 2 years), but it was okay.

Killzone 2 looks amazing, good looking graphics and the gameplay is looking fast paced, shame it's PS3 exclusive. Come on Microsoft throw some more cash at people ph34r.gif .

Have fun with it.

I have no idea what they call it because they're using their owns. But I heard it's supposedly stronger than Crysis.

Here is a little tec info on it from Wiki.

The Killzone 2 beta version was displayed in high definition 720p, locked at 30 frames per second. However in Game Reactor magazine Guerrilla Games QA Manager Seb Downie revealed that the commercial version will support native 1080i in addition to 720p.[24]

Michal Valient, a Former Senior Programmer at Guerrilla Games, presented details of their Killzone 2 Engine [25] at a Developers Conference in July 2007. Killzone uses a deferred rendering engine that integrates MSAA Quincunx (multisample anti-aliasing). The Cell Processor will also parallel process geometry and indirect lighting.

It is also said that some character models have more polygons than entire levels in the first Killzone.

If that's true it's better optimized than the CryEngine 2. Because the PS3's GPU is roughly as powerful as a GeForce 7800. Doing graphics on par with Crysis on a 7800 is pure win. icon14.gif

Lega, those new screen shots rule. Gezim sent me over to gametrailer.com and they've got some interviews and gameplay footage, I'll try and dig up some of the links.

I found some newerish screenshots on Kotaku, as some of them aren't on the PS3 Fanboy, but a majority of them seem to be.

Same here. I looked it up at my local game shop and it's only 15 bucks.

Yes, get the first one, it's a great game, and if you have a PSP, pick up Liberation while you're at it.

@Lega: Thanks for the new screens man. Damn i want this game.
