If you want the game sooner, going to a local store is probably the best bet.
if they still have it in stock. ho wait! you can camp on the front of the store for the 3 days before release to be the first
I preordered it for 28£ (25 is for the actual game, 3 for postage).
that was an exemple guys, but generally, i prefer buy through steam because it really worth it, especially when €/$ is 1.5
and i don't like international shipping, seriously, how can you prefer that to downloading?
so when a game is 50/60 or 70 (console) € in a french store, 70$ in others store, and 40/50 or 20 (TF2
)$ on steam, choice is easy
AFAIK this game comes on a single DVD. That means 7.95 GiB max. For guys with 2048kbit connections that will mean something like 10 hours worth of download. So basically leave it over night and in the morning you can go play before you even brush your teeth
you guys don't have optic fiber?
Available: December 3rd, 2008
This game will unlock in approximately 1 week, 5 days and 14 hours
yes, unlocking is the 3rd, but maybe, for this time, and especially when you know the amount of bandwith steam will have to provide for one of the most selling game ever, maybe valve will let people download a non-valve game before the release, and then unlock it the 3rd
