I bet the install time is going to be huge. It took me an entire day to install half life 2. but it sure is easier than trying to hunt it down at your local store.

with steam you can create an iso and instal it without steam.

This now leaves me to believe. That the private servers will be hosted throught steam and the direct connect smaller multiplayer games will be through windows live.

I might be wrong on that.

Still no offical news on the multiplayer yet. Maybe the 32 player limit is through live and a larger limit will be for private servers through steam. Which would be awsome.

First thing to do bug phpnuke creators to make modules for clan sites biggrin.gif

You can play games without internet connection with steam. It goes in offline mode on its own when it doesnt detect a connection and you can start games and play single player.

Nice, I like Steam a lot. But I'm not sure if I'll be buying it from them... Mayor issues are the download time and the price.

got a question, cause I'm not really into this gaming scene..
i bought once a game, that came up with steam. i could not install without being online, i had to create an account and to sum it up, it was totally uncomfortable... the whole procedure pissed me off. suicidal.gif
will it be the same with gta? if i buy gta in an ordinary store, will I have to deal with steam?

Never had a problem with download speed and I've used Steam for a year.

No, but it does use GFWL which requires an account to be setup. But as far as I know you don't have to create one.

You have to create GFW account if you want to save your game, so I think it would be advisable, lol. ;P

This is a good move by R* and I think they are making an effort to get with the program. Hope they keep it up. What would be even better is if they announced a collector's edition/special edition. They need to show more attention with marketing. The commercials with "Out now on Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 Computer Entertainment System (lol).....Oh, and coming soon to PC. We almost forgot this bit," just doesn't do it justice.

The screenshots aren't looking bad (about as good as one can expect from a port like this). I certainly think it will look much improved at full resolution (1920x1200 for me) over the entry-level version.
