I was searching for any possible extraction of the Liberty City's 3D model (hey maybe someone already started to try to get the map in a 3D format). But I found nothing.

Beside, I've found an article in a blog, about someone involved in the development of GTA IV. He talks about a 3D model of a logo for a shop seen in the new Grand Theft Auto IV Liberty City game.

I don't remember this place anywhere in the game... But maybe I'm blind, or stupid, or both. Yes, it is possible. "Thor Toys" shop ? Anybody knows where is it ?

off topic : about the 3D model of the city, no one started to extract it from the game (if it's possible) ? Nor the textures ?

Why is the hud, bottom left, very different from the actual game?

Don't have a clue why it is different. I'm not even sure if it is "photoshoped" or not. That's why I ask if someone knows this place in the game.

I think I might have found the location on the map using the HUD seen in the picture! Its in the area around Jonestown Avenue, Boyden Avenue, and Rael Avenue in Alderney (these are the streets seen on the HUD). I'm going to check it out right now!

EDIT: I checked it out, and the place exists all right. I've never noticed it either. Interesting looking place.

Wow tanks, but would you kindly say where abouts it is instead of having to search around the map looking for those streets.

Oh, it's in Alderney City on the edge of Jonestown Avenue that curves and intersects at Boyden Avenue.

Hope this helps smile.gif

So can you enter it or something? It looks kinda cool.
I'll go check it out in Alderney soon just to see it in game properly...

Nope, it's un-enterable, but like the theater in Holland, that Drusilla's Italian restaurant we get some missions from, and a few other places, you can see inside using the car headlights (however, it's just an empty place, nothing inside). Cool looking building, though.

gorgeprofondegta4: You're welcome! And thanks for the Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif ! It is pretty cool to find those little details and references in their games (and also cool to know someone who actually works for the company, like in that Calvin guy's case).

Oh, it would've been great if we could enter it. I always thought that you would be able to enter Drusilla's Italian Restaurant because of the fact that the inside looked more 3D.

Looks like pre release or something. How old is this picture?

This picture is most likely from a pre-release version of the game (in the blog, the writer says that he didn't think Rockstar would have "approved of any images being shown pre game launch.")

Hmm... either way, it looks fairly in middle of development, I guess. What I wonder is what that black dot symbolizes on the radar. Anyway, cookie.gif for the find.
