Playing this game on DS would chop down alot of aspects from the GTA from the Normal Console versions, like graphics and sound, maybe even the View.

What im asking is do u think there will be radio stations in this game

They have already confirmed radio stations for the game, the amount of them and to what quality has yet to be revealed though. There’s a few topics discussing the soundtrack in this area and what with the limitations to the DS most are guessing that 3-4 stations would be the maximum they (Rockstar) could fit into the game.

I thought a DS cartridge had a larger data capacity than the UMD... (Strange as that may seam...)

"Nintendo DS games use a proprietary solid state ROM "game card" format resembling the memory cards used in other portable electronic devices such as digital cameras. It currently supports cards up to 2 gigabit (2048Mb or 256MB) in size"

2048MiB equals 256MB. I hate the 'bit' measuring system.

Nah, UMD is bigger by a lot, 900MB single layer and 1.6Gb dual layer.

Radio stations are definately going to be a compromise in CTW, although I doubt we'll be dissapointed, Rockstar can really surprise you when they have little to work with smile.gif.

Not really, most GTA3 stations (apart from chatterbox) were 20 mins long. Probably 8-9 stations if they go this route. I'd be more interested to know which stations will be returning from IV.

They stated the soundtrack/radio stations would mostly be instrumentals.

no licensed tracks, more custom GTA3 type, with some DJ talk I suspect. They may try some humor we can enjoy. I think they claim the best compression coders around, so we'll have a NinDS game that will set a benchmark as they have with PSP and PS3/Xb360.

Oh yeah, with regard to 2GB of data, that's 2000Mb. 256MB is not much if you store on flash ram or USB drives, you know this. I typically use 512MB for SD cards or Memory stick, which works for PSP video, ya know? Mp4
Anyway, in a 2GB HDD on PC, you can work with Win 9x and Win 2K but XP uses ALL that space up.

Soundtrack? Nintendo DS is a 8-bit console. The audio quality will be terrible.

So far all we have heard is the "Like A Renegade" song and the hip hop midi file that was on the gameplay video. Normally each game has 3 trailers and we have only seen one.

I can tell MIDIs when I hear them. I have heard no such thing.

Play RE Deadly Silence. The audio was top notch, PC quality when using earphones.

Remember that the GTA3 radio stations were WAV files. 128kbps MP3 is pretty much a meg a minute, and seeing as how pretty much every GTA game's installation size was three quarters radio and audio, I can see over two hours of soundtrack going on the game. 4 minutes standard per song, that's about 5 or 6 radio stations with 5 or 6 songs. Not too bad at all.

PS: UMD single layer = 900MB (0.9GB). UMD dual layer = 1800MB (1.8GB) wink.gif

What the hell are you taking about? That Gamestop commercial don't count as a trailer. "Like A Renagade" was in both videos.

Can you post the Feature Clip # 1...and what music was in that video?

the original game boy was nintendo's 8-bit handheld. the DS is somewhere in between the nintendo 64 and the dreamcast.
