That was an incredible adventure to mod with you GTAForums people, some of you were Great, some were freaky, and some disapointed us. But we will try certainly remember the milestone of these 300+ pages of modding forever.


Who knows, maybe someday we'll be back here.

Hey, very nice pics! But, what is with those lampposts? All of them is black :S
I've only seen black lampposts in vc when i've reached a limit lol biggrin.gif

Is that a bug?

Hey ^^ That's not a bg, the pics are taken at 6 AM ingame. So generic object arn't bright. This will be fixed when timecyc.dat is done entirely.

Really sexy pics, that one makes me cry for it being so nice. Cant wait for Christmas when GTA:LC will come out, are you planning for release of this on same time? Because it would rock.

Its good you guys aren't just going with with VC textures. I say that because the pink VC streets were gay angry.gif Also good progress biggrin.gif

So you can edit the tmecyc.dat. Are you using any editor or is all the work done manually? I must admit that I love it and I hope you do something like that for SA too, the sky colour was sh!te all the time.

And before I go, is there any way that makes it possible for the environment to get darker at night, as in SA it was horrible walking around at 2am with no visual problems.

I edit this file manually. it's dead easy you know. Just color stuff is a bit boring and long. Microsoft Excel is a good way to get the file organized.

That's possible the night, by making NVC( night vertex colors) using RwAnalyse. But as you may know it's a manual and terribly long work, and we're talking of nearly 3000 models. It'll be done, no doubt about this, but i expect someone to make a lil script before ! whatsthat.gif

Making the landscape and shadows darker by day is also possible, but i didn't do it for this mod, because we're in Vice City, not Liberty city.

ParoXum: There is a NVC script around these forums. Look in the Misc and Maps categories for "Still want NVC?!" by Kam. smile.gif I almost finished every car. Some of them lack good COLs, but the ones that aren't finished yet:

Premier
Sentinel WS (Mesh is almost finished)

Planning to do:
Maybe the A.S.S. (Army Street Sweeper, replacing the Rhino)
Idaho

And possibly some VCS vehicles, not sure.

SeaNorris, what's your progress? I think we should update the vehicles post. Gonna finish up the Premier now.

Please convert the VC Rhino better, no new car to replace it.

And what if you just convert all VC cars first and then do the new vehicles?

No, not all the Vice City cars shall be converted, some will be replaced and some will not.

Idaho is done, Sentinel XS is nearly done, as is the Stinger.

I know RW, but I was thinking if the sky colours could be made darker at night and in that way affect the visual concept.

Maybe we can use XBOX VC car wheels for our rims. i think there was rims like the daytona pic, and this was R* made wheels so why not ? instead of a texture ?

Indeed, sky colors in GTASA for the night time are to bright and blue. I will try to make them black. We can also play with the models illumination to make the Vertex colors darker or not. Combined with NVC it can make a really powerfull and amazing lighting. But as you may know, i'm focusing on the day map for the moment smile.gif

For some cars yes that was the original idea, but for others where there are better SA wheels then that's where they shall be used.

I used those wheels first because they were very easy access and somewhat similar.
