I've always wanted winter weather in GTA, like GTA IV, but that means the difference between the seasons, which we haven't seen yet. GTA IV takes place during Autumn, which is a season where snow is unlikely to happen in a New York environment, just yet. In order for this to work, Rockstar would have to implement season transitions, which could be a bit difficult and even unnecessary. It would be interesting though, and I would also like to see this happen at some point in a GTA release.

Yeah, thinking about it now. Driving around in the street of LA with snow on the road, trying to drive as good as you can with out sliding across the roads.
Would be good tounge.gif

Season transitions wouldn't have to happen if it took place in Winter. They simply have to make small environmental changes, such as snow sticking to the ground, or they could just make it full time winter. The streets can get salted during dry period of no snow, then when it snows just make the ground wet like when it rains since cars melt the snow anyway, and the ground is too warm from traffic.

Perhaps the PC community can add such a mod.

The only winter you get to experience is in the SA mission "St Marks Bistro" when you travel to Liberty City.

GTA: Liberty City Stories has a snow weather but you have to go through a mission in order for it to snow. This for PSP version though.

The problem with the whole seasonal thing is that they would need to have several versions of the same textures in different states, imagine multiplying everything by 2 or 3 times... I would like to see it eventually, but I think it's too soon for something so intensive.

That was great how the seasons changed on Bully. Rockstar however are too lazy to bother with seasonal changes to the gta world.

If you want snow falling from the sky, you could always buy LCS and get up to level 9 car salesman.

When It comes to weather, I've always been thinking about something.

It would be very cool if you could go to the menu and change weather, season and time. When you do it a loading-time comes up. The ability to freeze the game time would be great too.

yea that would be cool, also it would be cool to have Snow plows plow the streets. But it would be really cool if you could pick up snow and throw it at some one kind of like what you can do now with small objects. It would be funny if they throw snow back to. lol

This thread just reminded me of a game that DOES have seasons, or at least winter. Has anyone here played Mafia II? Played it last year for the first time, and the first part of the story is set in the winter of 1946, with snow on the streets and ice over the lake. There was also a winter mission in one of the DLCs in which your character is chasing someone on a frozen-over lake.
