when i was around 12 I was body surfing at San Onofre and all i remember was getting into this sweet innertube of a wave. I then wake up on the beach coughing up water. I couldnt remember who i was for about half an hour. I walked up to some random surfer and asked him who i was. He was like go to the camp dude, which sparked some memory of where i was. Walking over there i put my hand to my head which hurt, I looked at my hand and it was covered in blood. there was a gash about the size of dollar.

Anyone have any good near death stories?

You just copy-pasted that from the broken Bones topic. biggrin.gif

You should've used the one about the gun.

I got hit by a car going around 25 mph. It swiped my leps from underneath me, I hit the bonnet then slid off. Scraping the ground hurt more than being hit! I left a hefty dent in the car and got a concussion from the floor. If it was going faster, I probably would've been killed.

ok then here it is,

when i was 17 i was partying at my house and this dude pulls out a gun and is like everyone look at it. so they pass it around and it gets to my girl who drops it on the floor when i pick it up it goes off into my hand. All I hear is the shot and im looking around like is everyone ok. They are all staring at me with thier mouths hung open. then i look at my hand, the bullet went through the bottom knuckle on my left index finger and the top knuckle on my pinkie. So now my pinkie is slightly bent to the right and i cant make a true fist with my left hand.

and the pics,

Do you have any pics of when it happened or when/if you were in hospital? I want to see your knuckle inside out.

Way to play on stereotypes...

I had an accident wakeboarding once. I lost my ballance and forgot to let go off the rope. My head was being pulled underwater at 17 naughts then, bang right into the jump ramp!
Dude!

Alot of injuries, alas nothing near death.

What the f*ck? How can you 'forget' to let go of the rope?

Jesus, that must've knocked your noggin some. No wonder you turned out like this. biggrin.gif

Wait, Machida, is this you?

I typed wakeboarding into google because I couldnt remember the difference between wakeboarding and bodyboarding. Google is your friend! It came up with this:

I went to Cornwall camping a couple of years back with a couple of mates and we went to this rocky/beach area and there was a big cave right down the bottom so these two lads started climbing down so soft arse here decides to follow them. By the time i got down the tide had started to come in so we started climbing back up, the path i took was the wrong way and i wasn't able to carry on climbing, so i had to climb a bit down and shimmy along to go to the correct climbing path.

If that went wring that would of been my washed out to see drowning wow.gif .

Also i lived on top of this road and it's pretty steep and i cycle to work down it on the path, but every now and again you get cars reversing from the drive and i have to swerve around them, one of these days i won't be looking and i'll be flying in the air landing on the pavement with my brains hanging out (no helmet).

No major death experiences but pretty freaky if you think about it.

It was amoung my early days, when your about to fall off of a moving rope you get the strang urge to hang on.

I had times when I was younger that I almost suffocated in my sleep.

It's not nice having to fight to breathe.

Woa Machida! Must've hurt like hell!

The only time I've been close to dying, was when I was about 7-10 years old.
My family went to visit my fathers sister in Spain, they live about 500 meters from the beach, so naturally we went there.

I was out swimming, and playing goaly, throwing myself into the waves.
And without noticing, the people on the beach had pulled out a net, to separate the people from the sharks.
I got caught under water in the net, my dad says I was under there for 30 seconds, before the lifeguard rescued me.

I had breathing problems for several years when i was younger, i've had quite many near death experiences.

Here's one another:

3 years ago we had to run in our PE class (we do it every time) and i couldn't catch up the other ones i was running with. Then i almost fainted, i couldn't see or talk and i was in shock and i didn't knew where was i, i couldn't coordinate anywhere. Then i started to yell and my classmates ran towards me... *some stuff i'm too lazy to type in*.
This was the last PE in that year where i had to run smile.gif , this happened to me several times again, but it stopped eventually.

In 2001, I was almost killed.

I had been hanging out in a nightclub with a girl who will remain nameless. We decided to go home - her hotel being on the way to my friend's house. While walking, we were approached by a dude who claimed he wanted... I swear I have typed this out before on here.

Long story short: I ended up with my face hanging off, and getting loaded in hospital.

Well, I don't really have any "REAL" near death experiences. Those are only in my dreams and action/horror movies I watch. I believe you guys are "pitiful" because you shouldn't even be "in those situations" in the first place. Anyways, that's just my opinion. I guess the world is a scary place to live in now.

Exactly.
It isn't someones fault that they are attacked by someone?

And in most cases, we were young.

The most near-death I been was when I was like 8, I ate a whole muffin (f*cking huge one, too) and choked for like 1 min. Then I un-choked and was fine.
Oh yeah, I remember once, we were on a plane back from Florida, and we were travelling with 110 MPH winds, (thus going about 610 MPH) and there was a TON of turbolence, and the engines shut off for like 3 seconds. It got really quiet. It was so weird, being in a plane in the sky, and just hearing the air go by... But the good news is we left FL 25 minutes late and got to Logan 20 minutes early.

Haha, death by muffin. That would've been epic. You should have let it kill you so you'll be remembered as the muffin kid.

Someone in my class had a similar experience, and everyone laughed at him for like a week. He would say he "was hungry" so he just ate the whole thing at once.

I once had an experience which would probably be good in a final destination movie.

I was laying on my back playing with these table legs. The table had a huge fan on top of it, suddenly the table fell toward me and the fan tumbled off and nearly smashed my skull open but fortunately I put my hands out just in time. If I was a mili-second late it would have been fatal.

I went further then you're supposed to on some mountain trail, which we warned has wild animals , and me being a smartass, decided to explore and next thing you know a freaking wolf or some sort of sh*t jumps out, I didnt know if it was wolf from a pack, but stupidly I ran away, and then waited and walked back. That's the closest I have to death lol.
