On GTAIII Game FM, they mention hip hop honeys dot com or some other variant. From what I can tell, if you remove the spaces, the site is a genuine (pr0n) site.

Is there anyone that has found the mock R* site they were on about...surely they wouldn't advertise anything real in GTA...then again, back then they weren't bothered about trade names: Game FM also mentions '64 Impala (referred to as "six four"), Dom Pérignon and Cristal etc.

By the way, moderators please don't hurt me, I'm not posting links to pr0n sites or advertising, I'm talking about genuine GTA content. blush.gif

Considering it says Game in the top left corner, I'd say it's a Rockstar site.

Maybe R* didnt realise that it was a porn site at the time. Or maybe the site was created after III was realised. Whatever happened i would think that it was a coincidence but i may be wrong.

Well spotted, maybe Game is some organisation that had paid R* to name their Radio station after them and put a little advertising. In return they got some real music to put in their game..evidently the site works with known rappers: they have mentioned 50 Cent, Lil' John and Redman.

Edit: I googled "Game Video Inc." and it gives these details:

gamecrib.com is another website mentioned on Game FM in GTAIII, and just shows a picture meant to look like a website for "Game Las Vegas", but doesn't do anything.

hiphophoneys.com isn't a site by Rockstar Games and yes it was already a porn site in 2001.
I'm speculating that they have been paid some to feature the site in GTA3, or they wanted to create controversiality to boost the games' sales (GTa2 wasn't anywhere near as succesful as GTA3, it was even less succesful than GTA1).

I'm not surprised it's on GTAIII radio, coincides with the rappers on the radio aswell, some quite famous too.

Yep, them hip-hop sites are full of viruses, that hip-hop hunnies.com i think is connected to a stream of other such sites.

I don't think it has viruses: I haven't had any problems. Then again, I always use Firefox for suspicious sites as it behaves differently to IE...most people that plant harmful material expect you to have IE.

Anyway, the site is looking for subscriptions: I doubt they would put viruses on their site, then expect people to buy their product. Plus, R* wouldn't want to be affiliated to anything to do with spyware/viruses.

Just to be safe, I recommend that you don't go to the site just in case. Unless you're desperate to investigate of course. catspider.gif

You can't get a virus from just visiting a site. You can get it thru those ActiveX things but you'll have to allow the download and installation.
