Since the old thread for last years' Uncharted is buried deep, let's get you "dead" fans of it back onto the bandwagon...what are your thoughts to how the series will progress for Drake!??
Will his cohorts return? What actions and improvements would we see or welcome. Should the Controls remain the same??? Let's get some input and hopefully there maybe some news on the horizon as well!!

I would like to drive cars and the people shouldn't have to get shot so much before they die. It would be good to have small towns and still have the jungles. Also I would like online because then It would be better value for money because you can play online for a long time and still enjoy it but doing the story again just gets boring.

Hmmm, not sure they'd go online. Can say, I'd like the characters returning in some capacity! They were really well done!

As to settings, I think a jungle may be prerequisite, but I do think something besides a city would be nice, more locations and a bit longer if possible. Get to exploiting the bluRay better!

i think it should be maybe abit longer cause the last one was almost perfect but i dont think online would be good because its story based, what would be the objective of the online portion? it seems like every game has the basic death match or Free for All online and it gets kinda old there would need to be more IMO.

I don't think they've got plans for online Uncharted, however, more story and more locales would totally make the game for a start... I am literally DYING for some new news on this game. I do love it but GTA4 has taken over on my PS3.... I find, as you say, that total Sandbox gaming approach is what makes GTA hard to beat. Those who get bored with GTA must not realize all the fun they are missing out on.

I love how the graphics aren't the only thing going for Uncharted. It is fast paced combat with VERY good cover that beats GTA's hands down. I always want to switch the over-shoulder view in GTA and can't. I also want to shoot out from corners in a safer manner that Uncharted seems much better adept at.

I would like some tribe villages in the jungle, and traps, and a lot of hidden locations like behind the waterfall and stuff like that. A lot of wildlife and being able to hunt for food and medicine and stuff like that. I know that sounds like MGS3 but I think it could actually work pretty well in Uncharted. I will think about more later.
Of yeah, it would be great to make it free roam in GTA style or similar.

I might be one of the few players who was actually dissapointed by the game...sure, the graphics are cool, sure the gameplay is dynamic, the whole theme of the game is refreshing, the presentation is hollywood like, a ton of unlockable content, bla, bla, bla...

But I felt like something is missing. Even the (short) length of the game is not a problem. It's the repetitive gunfights that annoyed me. Always the same, only the number of enemy waves changes...why not some bosses? What's with the jungle anyway? Apart from a few butterflies and birds there's not a single "wild" animal! Wouldn't it be fun to add some tigers, anacondas, or piranhas that you need to get rid off before entering a certain area? MGS3: Snake Eater anyone (and that was on PS2...)? Edit: I see GTAVanja understands me! smile.gif

Honestly, if they don't add something that could "upgrade" the whole experience, I couldn't care less about a sequel. Too bad, it's a good PS3 first wave game, but some changes are really necessary if they want to keep it alive.

It's possible to do a online mode. besides the standard modes we see in other games, Uncharted 2 could have a online mode where you have to find the most artifacts. Another good mode would be a race to the exit mode where you have to be the first(or only person) to escape a location(tomb, village, forest, etc.) alive. I don't know, it's something to think about.

as for single player, just make it a few hours longer then the original(with a good storyline and with good characters) and you'll have a great game.

I truly expect Eddy Raja to make an appearance as A ZOMBIE
He was missing from the last 1/4 of the game, and I hoped he would return in undead form. But it never happened.
What do y'all think?

Although its an excellent game I have agree with that. Its esspecially noticable when playing through it on crushing. more bosses would be a good idea too.

I was expecting that towards the end as well, it would have been quite cool, but sadly, it never happened.

I'm looking forward to a 2nd one, and i believe Naughty Dog have already said they are working on it to a few magazines.

What the game needs in a jungle environment is the element of survival like in MGS3 only more fitting that era and the gameplay. Although that would drastically change the gameplay, but in a good way. It's not too much fun to go through the jungle like it's nothing more then a street covered in trees full of bad guys with AK's

Uncharted 2 will simply dominate. Uncharted is by far one the best games I've ever played in a while. The story, gameplay, and graphics truly show what the PS3 is all about.

I would like to see some of the old characters come back and a different location for some parts of the game like Nathan goes to the jungle and finds a clue which leads him to a different country or location in the world for the next part. Also more weapons like a machete or if he encounters people from tribes he could pick up there spears and stuff like that

You never know if Elena is in the next one Nathan and her might get it on

I've been likely the biggest supporter of Uncharted, and now that Two is slated for 09 release, I plan to update my Signature graphic as a result!
I only heard word about it with the new EDGE Magazine cover story, not quite as in-depth as they did with Rockstar North, and considering the secrets of that studio, it puzzles me... EDGE comments on a few variable first off being WHY Uncharted didn't catch on with the masses, yet despite a couple things mentioned, non included comparing the realistic world of Grand Theft Auto, widely speculated to spread influence on all of gaming, I felt there is some comparison, the most glaring thing that is different is the open ended aspect of gameplay AND missions, all still isolated to a land mass, but in very tight, linear contraint with Uncharted.

The foibles that Uncharted One and Two will differ in, is the platforming and combat sections are not seperate linear events but happen at the same time, a new 2.0 Engine for the game itself offers wider character animation possibilities down to the facial expressions.
You will be able to climb AND shoot while attacking and combatting the baddies... You will also be able to use stealth or a guns-blazing attack...subtle be damned.

The textures are said to be hand done, so the variety and detail is stunning, snow and lighting will have the impact the WATER did in the first Uncharted, these are some of what Edge Magazine delved into.

The love interest is new, no old characters APPEAR to be returning, it seems, and I'm bummed most about that so far. Vehicles one can use are being kept a secret, but they WILL be there!

My idea is simple, for online, in battles with many bad characters, the AI is not running them, the online players are, in the same manner GTA has. It's hard for me to picture if that works, but it sounds entertaining.
Another thing we DO find out is that jungles MAY appear, but the story is about Marco Polo and takes place in Tibet at one point. There should be a variety of locations though, given what they have stated in the article.

I'm really looking forward to the wine. I heard it looks so realistic when you're pouring it your mouth will water and you can taste it.

anywho, I think i'll miss the old characters a little bit but I'm looking forward to see nate's new sidekick. I liked how the characters were developed in the first one. I wonder if we can set a trap if we choose the stealth option?

I'm hoping Uncharted 2 will be more of a buy than a rent. So I hope the story is longer and replayability is up.

I think the story to the first one is decently long. I just got it not too long ago, and I still have to finish it. But, I'm pretty slow with games. Love it so far. Just have to pass the annoying jet ski part.

Yeah, I'd like to see the enemies take less damage. That was annoying. Something with swimming underwater could always be cool, but that stuff usually turns into crap missions. Snow would be nice, too, since I don't see it in games much.
I think they'll do good with this one considering the amount of time they've been working on it already. The trailers look good enough as it is.

The jet Ski part is not too hard, you need only hold the aim to stop the craft to a crawl, then apply acceleration to move to better spots up the river, as you move around to place your shots. There is some cover in just about all areas where you're confronted, or it would be REALLY difficult.

The way things are in a row, climbing and then shooting, then walking, in Uncharted 2, the elements will be more actively overlapping, which is what I am relating.

They do let the cat out of the bag that the end means that Drake will not get his hands on the prize, due to doublecross and plot twists, as before. It sounds like there are many new "familiar" elements we'll encounter that will make the game of Uncharted VERY tough to beat.

I don't really know of a better game visually, it's been stunning and now...getting BETTER!

Also in EDGE was the mentioned of Naughty Dog's motion capture with the actors, this time EVERYTHING is acted out on a REAL stage, so the actors will marry to the characters graphically in the game unlike what has been done before, and if you know Uncharted DF's that was done on a stage, with actors in motion capture, this is doing it in a theater setting on a larger scale, replicating a theater show without the audience in attendance, from the sounds of the report.... Should elevate the quality of the performance for sure.

With the added element of snow, and the colder clime, it's speculated the jungles will be limited, but Edge reported that a walkby of a Workstation showed some work on jungle graphics, so they speculate that will be added. If the scale of the game is even greater, it's got to be fun!

Bumping just to keep this on page one (<G>)
I neglected to report the Edge review says the footholes for climbing will be much less obvious, and as the various components inter-mingle, you'll have to scout harder for them and will likely have more climbing options....

Along those same lines, it's mentioned a car door can provide cover, but if an enemy soldier gets to it first, the battle Drake encounters will be decidedly different. Instead of Elena, Drake's love interest in this episode is Cloe.
She is a fellow treasure seeker on the same hunt.
It's reported that she will be causing Drake to get into situations he'd like to avoid...ie Causing trouble! nervous.gif

Just adding a bit more to what you said

"The title will feature new gameplay mechanics, such as stealth action segments, and will change the climbing mechanic to allow free movement over walls."

"Nathan will now be able to flip over certain pieces of furniture to use as cover. The game is also stated to have no loading screens. Drake himself will have a darker side in this outing, and the player will learn what makes him a thief, hence the title."

"Bruce Straley, the game director for Uncharted 2, has revealed that the Artificial Intelligence of the enemies will be updated to match the new action-stealth gameplay"

"Now, the enemies will have peripheral vision, so that they will hunt for Nathan if he briefly appears in their cone of vision. Additionally, the enemies will interact with the environment more, following Nathan as he climbs on buildings or jumps off of ledges."

"n addition to new gameplay mechanics, the graphics engine will also be revamped to take advantage of additional PS3 capability. Naughty Dog are aiming to maximize the utilization of the Cell's SPUs, as their estimates for utilization in the first Uncharted were around 30%. As a result, the game is expected to have more realistic environments and animations."

.....Ok alot more

Seems the age old trick of putting self made joke clips and then tagging them as a trailer or gameplay has reared it's ugly head for Uncharted Two as well...

I hate this practice because it serves no purpose but to amuse and advert someone SH**TY lame YouTube channel.

Well, How many REAL clips and promos are out for this game?? I guess I could get some official info if they have a site link directly as Rockstar did.
