I just beat GTA 4 two weeks ago. I loved the game but have mixed feelings about it when it comes to the mediocre soundtrack, lack of extra features (taxi missions, firetruck, ect.), and other missing parts. Don't get me wrong. All GTA's in the series are my favorite games.
All in all, what I'm trying to say is that last night I started a new game in San Andreas, one of the best GTA's of all time.

So far I'm up to the drive-by mission and I sit back and think to myself...wow...this is what GTA is about. Humorous and FUN! Not too serious...just fun. In addition I've got 10 out of 50 oysters and all 100 Tag's done up.

Has anyone else restarted this game recently and/or have shared the same feelings I have?

I haven't restarted the game for a long time now. But that's probably because I never felt the need to since I keep on taking turns in the Chain Game and also doing random SnPs that keep my interest in the game alive. But none-the-less, it's an awesome game. No other game has had me hooked onto it for so long.

Didn't like the GTA-IV... no simpathy for the charactors... too dark for my eyesight,
Controls don't feel right, it's like they changed them just to change them.
Missions have too much boring lead-in.
Accents difficult to understand, not to mention foreign language.

So after a few weeks of Oblivion/Morrowind I've
Restarted my 9th replay of GTA: SA.

After opening the Save point:

I got the can off the roof to paint all the tags.
Did the Firetruck mission.
Did the Medic mission.
Did the Burglary Mission.
Now puttsin' around collecting weapons and ammo.

Haven't been able to do the Cop Mission, so after collecting enough ammo I'll try it this time.

Just finished the main storyline for like the tenth time, not amazed by the graphics but the overall gameplay makes it the best experience along with III and VC.

I wish i could go back when i didn't over play it, when it was new. sad.gif

I think you should restart this game again after you have installed the ''Things to do in San andreas when you die'' Mod. http://www.gtagarage...how.php?id=1194

I haven't even been interested enough to finish GTA IV, instead I am playing GTA SA instead, I find it more varied and it keeps me interested.

Well I just got 100% and all single player achievements on GTA IV (which I loved) the other day.

I ordered a copy of GTA: SA the next day for my xBox 360 and am awaiting it's arrival.

I used to play it on PS2 but no longer own a PS2, hence the need for a new copy.

I never managed 100% last time, best I got was 97%, but I'm determined this time.

I beat SA long time age. Then I started it again and re-did some random missions, feels great. And then I beat GTA ]|[ and now am stuck at 99% in Vice. Although VC is very boring it is still fun to play it because you see things you already forgot etc.

Theres an Achievements category on the Stats menu on San Andreas, but its full of pretty much irrelevant stuff Ive never heard of anyone loving it.

Is there a Stats menu in GTA IV, and does it have some sort of Achievements category? And if there is, what makes you love it? just curious.

Yeah. For me, controls and darkness is the main things that f*ck up IV. But there a heaps and heaps of irritating little things too.

OT- I love to restart SA. After finishing 100% i'll do it all again without cheats to bring up my 9th completion of the storyline.

Achievements, as in xBox 360 achievements, such as roll a car 5 times and do 10 counters in 4 mins.

And I loved GTA IV, not the achievements. Although they are pretty cool because it gives the game more longevity.

okay, cool... I'm not familiar with that, so I guess XBox has their own thing then... I only play PC games.

Are there XBox achievements for San Andreas too?

I do get the feeling that everyone in the game is just goofing off most of the time. There are a few serious missions but how can you take a game seriously that lets you smack people to death with a dildo or bouquet of flowers?

Like paramedic

Your a killer and then your helping someone confused.gif

ive passed SA 14 times now. 4 times with no cheats....and i only got the game 10/april/2007.

I would do anything to go back in time to the day that i got the game.
I went to the shops to buy a usb cable for my phone...they had none left so i bought san andreas for $45AU.
its usually 49.95 but the dude gave me a discount coz i knew him lol.

I got back home...and started playing the game to find out that my old save game is locked (coz its from a gtaSA that i rented)

So...i had another save game that i started back in 2006 wen i borrowed the game from my friend. but..it was scratched and kept freezing so i couldnt get passed the mission where you have to steel the sound van and the mission where you are on the back of the motorbike and have a big shoot out.

Well i started from there and got up to the countryside. It made me remember wen i was playin it in 2004 at my friends house coz he got up to there.
Of corse back wen i got the game i had a whole different point of view on it if ya know wat i mean lol.

so i got some cheats...and froze the wanted level. I flew my car up to the desert and crashed it in the water to find a seaplane (skimmer). I didnt have VC then so i didnt expect it.
I flew the skimmer all around SF and the lakes and rivers in amazement untill i crashed it. lol

Well...after the LS missions...they started to get more funner and funner. Good memories of the Catalina missions.
Well wen i did the mission 'stowaway' my mouth dropped. oohh the good times. everytime i do that mission...i feel like im in april 2007 again. Best month of my life coz i got 2 weeks skool holidays so i played SA alot.

Well...my mouth dropped even more wen i was doing the Casino missions. Never have i expirienced so much fun. (exept for wen GTA3 came out lol)
I only found out that all planes were flyable wen i got to LV. First i only thought that the sklimmer was flyable coz in GTA3 only the dodo is lol i was having the best time of my life.
But there was one missions that really startled me.......'Saint Marko's Bistro'.
i was like OMG YOU GET TO FLY TO LIBERTY CITY....lol.
My friend had the game but he used too much cheats so wen he goes to do the mission Madd Dogg...mad dog jumpes off the roof while you have to go in the car..so it was f*cked up.

So after a long time...he started a new game but his xbox f*cked up lol.

anyway....o the good times. It feels like yesterday when i was doing that mission for Zero 'Braking the Bank at Caligulas'
sooo fun.

Anyways....the second funnest mission was the one where you have to steal the hydra from the big ship in SF.
I have never in my life have seen such a good game(exept for GTA3 in 2001)

Well after i passed the game...i started a new one so i can save it before every good mission.
But....idioticly i overwrited my old game lol.
I was just sitting there.....staring at the TV in horror....omg lol.gif

Meh it was fun passing it again lol.

well....in about September 07....my friend borrowed the game for 3 months.
BORINGEST 3 MONTHS IN HISTORY for me lol.
I started playing gta 3. lol.
wen i got the game back....i started crying coz it was scratched and kept freezing
luckily i could fix it for $3

Back then....i started discovering lots of easter eggs lol it was really cool.

Makes me cry just thinking about it..back in the day.

Then i bought vice city...passed it...bought liberty city stories...passed it....bought vice city stories...passed it.....

On April 27 i lent my san andreas to my other friend.

Havnt played it since.

Im getting it back today and im gonna seriously f*ck it soo hard...

I still have the recept that says...

GTA San Andreas PS2 $45.95

I would do ANYTHING to go back to January 1 2007 and replay tha whole year. That was the best thing ever.

I have a feeling that 2009 will be even better lol

If you have read this far....thank you.

Hope you enjoyed my story.

You CAN turn the brightness (and contrast) up in the menu or on your TV.....

I think you missed the point.
The game play as well as the visualazation are Dark.
We can certainly adjust the TV/Monitor but it's understood that Under the EL is supposed to be dark.

The Bright Open Spaces of Los Santos is the 'dreamland'.
Liberty City Stories wasn't as Dark as GTA IV.
Hey... Why Can't Italians(?) (Mafia) Swim?
