I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But are you converting the maps across or remaking them?

Hey this looks great, I have fond memories of these games and most importantly the maps so to be able to travel between them all in one big map is something great indeed.

@Fireman; Thanx for reporting that error there, didn't find it myself yet. smile.gif I'm currently working on the water file, adding pools and stuff. So even then, you are not able to drive there. smile.gif Or I could make that area dry for a change... what do you think?

Oh I thought you were going to leave it like this (no water just color change) that looked pretty good too be honest.

Maybe you should leave that dry but then you should do it with the entire Max End's of Town map though.

Whoa. I have seen many total converzion maps in my whole life but I never wanted to install any of them. Until I came across this orly.gif . Man when you are done with this me be DLin' an' Installin'. Carmaggedon was the first racing game I ever played, this brings back memories. I say you deserve a whole truck loaded with cookie.gif

The whole mod is undergoing a mayor Facelift. The vertex lighting is now allmost done, appart from the floating tracks in the sky. But the result is really sweet!

Here's a short trip around the worldmap as it is now. Mostly night screens, because the lighting really looks good at night, but both day and night are now correct! :sglasses:

and so; Beta 2.1 files released!

get it over here

simply extract the files in your main gta-grandcarma folder. (if you haven't done an installation, grab the 2.0 file from this website first

changes;

- vertex lighting for all the tracks, both day and night
- map objects placed. (some smashable windows in beaver city. All other windows still have to be placed)

I don't know what's happening but the first time I installed it I had no problems but since then I have reformatted and am trying to put this back on. there seems to be a problem because the loading bar gets to _____|_______________________________ there and then it crashes, so I'm a little confused... please help.

oh well, did you delete the old install and put the new 2.1 files in a fresh install? Because if you did that you did it wrong...

you need to keep your 2.0 version as it was, but just extract the new files over the old installation. The new files should then overwrite the old ones, and you mod will be updated...

no what happened was I installed it on my computer, but then my computer was so screwy I reformatted my computer and then reinstalled it the same way without the update and it kept freezingatr that point.

Are you planning to make an automatic install somewhere down the line??

Well after a long break I'm back on the mod!

To answer wahgah's question;

Yes I want to make an automatic installer at some point, but I just need to get the mod further for that.

Now, what I did;

I've been placing a lot of objects around the map, so many, that I believe I've hit another limit. The object placement limit. I tried the limit adjuster and removed the limit, but it didn't work yet.

and so I've also started on the ped/car path's! It's really great to add these path's, since I now know how to do it properly. I'm still struggling with the traffic lights, if someone could help me with that it would be great. (The problem is that when cars go through the green light around the corner, they wait for the other light which is red... any idea's anyone?)

I've done a large part of the worldmap allready, think about 1/5 th! Here's some images and a movie to get the idea...

When I got Pentium 2 (350MHz) back in 1998., Carmageddon 2 was my second CD game ever...
Good work! It's a shame that GTA doesn't support realistic damage confused.gif

this is excellent man! great work! i loved the Carma games and frequently while i'd play them recently, id think "wow this would be sweet on GTA's engine!" and u did it!

are u still working on it? i sure hope so!

No I haven't given up at all! smile.gif But progress has been really slow because I'm also graduating for university which takes up a LOT of time...

anyway, I'm currently trying to get an automatic installer to work... tounge.gif
