2D. DS can't render a good GTA-esque city in 3D. Maybe it could be able to render with graphics like LEGO Star Wars for it, but 2D is a smarter decision. They could at least use good textures for it.

Hmm, What if the bottom screen (Touch screen) is 2D but the top screen is 3D, like in Hotel Dusk.

And you use the touch screen to walk around, of course when you get in a car, you use the normal D-Pad controls, I would really like it if they did it that way.

How would you shoot? Hold the L button, and use touch screen to shoot things....

Man I can make this game myself, no problem...

That is actually a really good idea man. But use the A button to shoot with. Its in the familiar shoot/punch area.

Cross = B
Triangle = X
Square = Y
Circle = A

there you go!

Yeah, but when you are holding the DS in your left hand, and using the Stylus in your Right hand to move around, if you want to shoot, you have to put it down to press the A button, would make it easier to move around and shoot people by holding down L button, and selecting the area you want to shoot at..

3d on one screen, map the other screen. Or a top down view

Or it will be 2d on one screen, and options and weapon selection and stuff on the other screen. They can really streamline the 2d interface with the DS.

I have some faith, given what we've seen the same team offer up with PSP Stories.
They cut their chops on the Gameboy, and that has to be a less powerful system.
It will be the first Nintendo SYSTEM I ever own, and GTA would have to be good enough to be the sole game as GTA4 appears to be now, there's not much else to get excited about.

Oh, and I am betting it's 3D, it really should be, if they want to be trendsetting on any platform they move to.

Yeah im guessing it will be a 2D Game, I really doubt that the DS could handle a full on 3D City, I'd like to see it go 3D when you get out of the car to shoot/ect.. and 2D/Birdseye view like when you enter vehicles, I don't know whats going to happen, but im guessing it will be like the old GTA games.

3D. Im sick of the DS's 2D graphics. Nintendo never veres to enything different and sticks to 2D all the time which doesn't make it as fun or cool.

Eh...

I'm expecting 3d, but only of quality about 5 times better than Crimelife 3's. GTA III is about 15 times more graphically advanced than CL3.
However, it'll probably make up with the rest.

This is what I'm expecting:

-About 50 missions. It'll probably be the shortest game after VC with 57 or 58 missions, VCS with 59 missions, III with 65 missions, LCS with 70 missions, and SA with about 94 missions.
-Now that I think about it, it'll probably have about 60 missions.
-More cars than in III. III had 54, so it'll assume it'll be about 65. To compare, VCS had 108.
-An island at least the size of a half of III LC.
-At least 20 weapons. Just your regular stuff - knife, katana, bat, nightstick, 9mm...

I have that game. Most of the other cars are barely recognisable blobs, and all the other tracks are deserted with the exception of a couple of billboards. Plus, ProStreet is less demanding than GTA, okay there are some particle effects, but ProStreet has only a few collision files, doesn't have to deal with damage, no pedestrians, only a few cars, and since GTA is freeroam, the map will be much larger with content outside the confines of a track like that to be processed.

If you look at the video you posted, all the track details are sharp-edged crates and containers, a set of which will only consist of 6 polys. GTA is waaay more detailed than that.

Ok first of all that game had no damage to cars(atleast not in your video), the draw distance was like 10meters , the physics sucked etc. Now im not sure what Catrige the DS has for games, but if its a GBA cartige i see no way of them fitting an open 3d world with damage , good physics etc. And i am not buying a DS for this game. This game will probably be top down view like in gta 2-1.
