With all the discussion of where to go next with the GTA series I've been imagining the possibility of one popular location expanded some what.

A lot of people would like to see Vice city return in the next version/big download, personally I think a mere VC repeat wouldn't do it. It would need to expand more towards the size of SA and encompass a state size area. So I drew up this little map of what I thought would be a nice idea, expanding Vice city to surrounding Caribbean locations:

user posted image

I'm thinking the total size would be similar to SA. Now I've moved and scaled certain parts to better fit into a square so don't say it's geographically wrong, I know.

I think these locations offer what's needed for a GTA game (crime, culture, diversity) and although a little ocean heavy , it might work.

How would you feel about this as the next GTA VC?

I've never seen land-masses with shapes like that before. Why does Cuba have to be called Tuna Island?

If it has to be Vice City AGAIN then this would be great but a little too optimistic. I think south florida/key west would be enough really. If they were to spread themselves too thinly they could very well end up doing nothing right. If Vice City is GTA V, then thats 8-10 years away on the next generation of hardware.

Why not! just replacing the consonants to come up with a similar word for a fish that lives in the area...Cuba .....Tuna...I roughly traced over land masses so it ain't that much different is it?

Maybe that city sucks in the extra water on land. like when it floods.

No, just so round and some of those corners and cutbacks are intense. No one likes to see their home-country called tuna.

The tuna is a magnificent fish, not that I'm into fish or anything

Maybe something like Vice City as the main land mass, and one other one. Then maybe one or two islands that are the size of Bohan and a little more 'resortish' and less built up.

But then I think about it, and maybe the idea of having multiple islands like that is a little too much like Scarface.

You are going to say that no other game can have multiple islands because that would be too similar to another game with multiple islands? Come on. I would love to play a GTA where you start out as a Cuban refugee and have to raft your way to America to make it big.

That's it man you've got the idea. The potential for human trafficking would be the nuts. Bring on multiple borders!

Well I for one like this idea...jonstunt makes a great point that this scenario would be very diverse and I would like to see how it would play out. Nice work.

I agree. I'd really like to see what they could do with VC in this gen, and adding the surrounding Caribbean Islands and the Everglades would be sweet.

ive already imagined something like this but just with a vice city island and a cuban island and thats it, ive also thought of San diego and tijuana mexico being in a game with gameplay focused around the border and its crimes and this area of us mexican border is the most populated. But ya good job, i would really enjoy playing this and it could bring back planes and u could focus a lot more gameplay on helicopters and boats goin to each island

There is a city called Tampon and you're offended by an island named Tuna dontgetit.gif

It's just a name! confused.gif R* always has weird names like that...who would want their home named Bohan? Exactly...

i think it is a f*cking inspired idea, nicely done.
And ok guys the shapes of islands look a little off but he never said he was a
cartographer or anything. anyway, this would make the most awesome GTA
ever

Same here. I like the more naturalistic environments of the SA countryside, but despised the nothingness in the jungles of Just Cause. A Tropical/Caribbean GTA would make for a nice change of scenery for the series.
