INTRODUCTION
IPL (Item PLacement) is one of the essential files of GTA, by which items, culls, garages, cars, zones etc can be placed. Currently IPLs are two types, first is Normal, that can be open by Notepad and supports all IPL contents. Second is Binary, that type of IPL cannot be open by Notepad and supports only items and cars contents. Binary IPL is smaller than Normal IPL in size, since their saving formats are different. Binary IPL also doesn’t require to write its file path in gta.dat.
IPL Editing, is not a easy task, but a tool named IPL Helper (V.5.0) makes it easy, it has 10 sub tools, those are specially developed for editing and checking purpose and makes editing easy. IPL Helper contains large amount of info about IPL and provides functionality to add your own info. Some sub tools which could be tough to use, are graphically represented so that they can be understandable easily.

AUDIO PLACER
An audio get started, when CJ enter in that audio zone.

STIFF FIELDS :
Type : Some audios supports Type I, some Type II and some both, Type I is more accurate however Type II is easy.



CULL PLACER
A protection from rain or bad weather & creates reflection, TV screen and temporary camera movement.

STIFF FIELDS : N/A



ENEX PLACER
A connection between interior and exterior world.

STIFF FIELDS :
Type : Teleporting type, if you want to teleport vehicles too then it will be use, press ‘+’ button, select vehicle type and the type value will automatically add to previous value.
Double click on this field to open Enex Type Editor.

GARAGE PLACER
An invisible garage will be placed on given location.

STIFF FIELDS : N/A

JUMP PLACER
An invisible jump format will be placed on given location, when we jump under the specified location we will be awarded ‘Unique Jump Reward’.

STIFF FIELDS : N/A



VEHICLE PLACER
A vehicle, which we have selected, will be placed on that location, sometimes it won’t appear, so we need to use force spawn.

STIFF FIELDS : N/A



WEAPON PLACER
Obviously, it’s for placing weapons. smile.gif smile.gif

STIFF FIELDS : N/A



ZONE PLACER
Same like audio placing but a little difference that is a text appears on bottom-right of screen when we enter in that zone.

STIFF FIELDS :
GXT Name : A GXT name must match with the entry name in GXT file to show up the text in it.


ID CHECKER
When IPL have lots of items and we are getting difficulties to find out undefined IDEs, then using of this sub tool make it handy.
How to use :
Open IPL, click on ‘Check IDs’, Add your IDE file(s) and click on Start, all the undefined ID(s) will be added in the list (right side).



IPL CHECKER
Very helpful to find out errors in IPL.
How to use :
Open IPL, click on ‘Check Me!!!’ and click on start. If any content heads have error then the error line will be colored red after closing “Check Me” and if any line in content has error then it will be remain in the list.
To clear the Red Color, right click on ‘Text Editor’ and click on ‘Clear Colors’.



LOD PLACER
Very helpful to placing LODs.
How to use :
Open IPL, click on ‘LOD Placer’ and all IDs in ipl will be in the list with LOD names^ just write LOD ID for that model next to it, empty ID will not be add, when done press OK, next LODs will be placed.

^Model name in IPL do not read by game that mean it can be any.

ADDING INFO DIALOGS
This feature increases the flexibility of the tool, by this, you can add you own info, for example : I want to add my car info which I have added in SA and its ID is 613, so I will open Vehicle Placer next click on the little down arrow near the ‘Add Line’, then ‘Add New Vehicle’, fill all info and it will look like this :

press OK, now you can select this car from list.

This feature allows to get all the info of IPL, here is an example :

nice guid. but you should include the ID's of each enex location and give the id descriptions of the other tools for people who are new to using IPL.

I don't think a complete list of all 376 standard exterior and interior enex connection is available. You can find reference of Interior IDs at the link below.

If you want a more complete list then perhaps we should create one. I've got a complete list of IDs for all connections, the original IPL line, the ipl file that contains the lines, and the default enex hex records copied from a new save file recorded in a spreadsheet. The description for many of the connections is semi-complete. I've been filling them in as I work in those areas. It would also be handy to map each of the exterior connections, but I don't have a method to do this accurately.

Imaging a map similar to the in-game map, but in addition to all the save houses, restaurants, barbers, ammu-nations, etc, the 24-7s, casinos, strip clubs, tower doors, fixed burglary houses, and every other door was also marked. Basically, a map of all enex connections that are not listed in IPL files contained in the interiors folder.

The other part of that sentence: I can extract the X and Y coordinates from exterior IPLs, but I don't have a method to use this information to create an accurate map.


Also, I'm sorry to be spamming your Tutorial topic with this discussion. Perhaps we should pick up this conversation in the beta topic.

you cannot add garages, you can just edit them, thats it.

Hi, first of all thnx for this awesome product, but I have one problem. I placed some weapons using v5.0 beta 4 and when I start a new game, after having collected them once, I can't collect them again. I actually collect them, but they don't increase the number of bullets that I have, it remains the same. And if I don't have any bullets, i do collect the weapon, but it's like I don't cuz the weapon doesn't exist in my arsenal of weapons. I hope you can tell me why this happens.

well some weapons needs to replace, eg. Flamethrower replace with Rocket Launcher or you might reach the max limit of weapons stock.

Well, here's like it is. Some of the weapons work fine. I placed a M4 in a tunnel and another M4 near CJ's house. When I collect the M4 at the tunnel, it works fine, it adds bullets everytime I collect it, but the M4 near CJ's house doesn't increase my M4 bullet's number after I've collected it once.

might be its a bug or limit in SA, same as particles some particles works only on some places and some dont.
