General Dilemma

This mission mod was based on the Winning entry by GTA-Sheep for the "Design Your Own Mission" contest on the dutch gtaforum.nl. In this contest people had to invent their own Mission. The Winning entry has been implemented by the contest-leaders (Dutchy3010 and PatrickW).

It is an extensive Mission, where Cesar and Kendle have been kidnapped and CJ has to free them.
Being inventive, gunfights, crouching, stealth-killing and escaping by car, it's all in there.

Installation and starting
1) Create a directory MPACK in the directory "GTA San Andreas User Files" in "My Documents".
2) Copy the MPACK3 directory from this download into that new directory.
3) Start GTA San Andreas, start a new game and choose the option: "DYOM:General Dilemma".

Mission Description
You will now start in front of the Four Dragon casino, and you will find the mission startmarker at your righthand side. Be sure to pay attention to the helptexts that appear ingame, as they will provide valuable information.

To free Kendle and Cesar from the Area69 compound, you first need some soldier clothing. You have to get them from the military fuel depot in Las Venturas. After you found a way in, you have to kill the guard there. When you have the soldier clothes, you have to proceed to area 69, but you can't come to close with a vehicle as that will attract their attention. After you walked into the base unnoticed, you'll go inside. Inside you're only allowed into the Cargobay area, but you can't take any firearms inside. Beyond the cargo bay, you are only allowed with a special ID card. You can get it by finding and killing the head-researcher. But this means that you have to sneak your way past the guards unnoticed. Don't let them see or hear you. Always crouch and kill guards by stealth-method if needed. Some dark corners protect you, so that guards will not see you. Once you have the ID, you can proceed to the general without the guards bothering you. Convince the general with a gun to release Kendle and Cesar, and flee with them and your prisoner in a patriot to woozie in San Fiero.

Lol Dutchy, here to? The mission is hard but great, i don't like the f*cking little missions, this is a long mission. And that is better, now your guys can kiss my ass. I play the mission again, goodbye.

Of course we present this mod here also, as it is already written with English ingame texts. The potential userbase here is much larger than just our dutch audience, and it would be cruel to keep such an extensive mission away from the international community sigh.gif .

I also like the MPACK way, being able to select what mod you want to play. I liked it so much that I signed up on your site to get the San Andreas Citizens mod. Very, very cool mod also.

EDIT: OMG! I have learned how to make MPACKS with any mods! I didn't even know MPACK existed until this mod. Anyways, thanks for the entertainment and knowledge.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.
We tried to make the mission as entertaining and complete as possible.

BTW.
We will release the San Andreas Citizens Mod shortly to the international community.
For the interested readers: San Andreas Citizens is a SCM mod, where you are able to switch into the body of any citizen you encounter in San Andreas. Some citizen models have special abilities. New abilities for other models are planned to be added in regular updates in the future.

We uploaded a minor bugfix to our website. This fixes a small timing bug, where the mission would not proceed as planned in all circumstances.

I finally had enough time today to beat the mission. Yay! The stealth mission was a great idea, and the coding of course was phenomenal.

Two things seemed unusual though, or un-R*'ish to me. One was that the message after retrieving the badge kept displaying, like it was looping, and it didn't shut off I think, until I reached the guards. The second thing was the yellow marker above the Patriot stayed after entering the vehicle.

No big deal, just thought I'd mention it, in order to perhaps be helpful. Wonderful job though.

I think you used the first release? Because I believe the message is fixed in our minor bugfix... We will fix the marker with the next release. Thanks for your feedback! wink.gif

We found the problem. However, it isn't a killing bug, so we don't do an update right now. If you want to change it yourself:

Must be:

Of course this change will be in the next update.

When I replaced just the first $664 > 0, it won't drop the keycard and weapon at all. When I changed all 3 $664 > 0, then the message starts displaying right after entering Area 69 (before any stealthing).

The only one that needs to be changed is three lines below :GENDIL_14330
it should read "$664 == 1" instead of "$664 > 0"

I tried that but just ended up with a dead scientist with a yellow arrow above him and no keycard or weapon.

EDIT: Oops, it's the other way around. When just changing the one after 14330 I get a display saying to go talk to the general right after I enter Area 69 compound. And I can then walk through the area with no confrontations.

I'm really confused now.. That should only be possible if you would have changed the same line to "$664 == 0" or something along those lines.
But I guess it easier to just wait for our update, we'll try to come with one as soon as possible. It's just that we're still puzzled by the marker on the patriot.
We're unable to reproduce or explain it.

1. Don't bump.
2. There's no point of making an MPACK unless you have created and SCM mod or have an SCM to put in it.

EDIT: There is a topic by Seemann on MPACKS somewhere, but I can't find it

I'm so happy to find this topic. Its my dream too.
BUt I found almost all user created missions are of the same type: gun fight only. no driving, no flying. I think driving is the essense of this game. Is it very hard to add it?

We won't be posting a complete walkthrough, we want to keep it challenging for people that still discover this mod.
But if you describe where you get stuck, we can try to give some tips how to proceed.
