I'm a horrible photographer, I hope to get one of my own Digital SLR camera soon.

These were all taken on an LG G2, they're nothing special.

I think I use Black and White too much.

There is no such thing as using black and white too much. Many photographers choose to shoot in that style almost exclusively, in fact. You got some great shots there pal, especially this one

Was messing about with black and white myself recently as well (which I don't do very often at all):

Thank you. I'm trying to get a few more shots, because I haven't taken a lot in a long time.

I like them OTB, good composition of a simple subject - good photo.

MY PC BUILD IS COMPLETE.

16gb ram, an SSD and a 24 inch monitor.... Processing photos is like a dream compared to my laptop...... I do need to calibrate this monitor though.

Hey guys, it's been a long time since I've viewed this topic.

Nice shots in here! :)

My parents said I may choose a camera to buy, I really want one but don't know a lot about it.

I've searched the internet a little and found the Nikon D3200 as a good camera and easy to use for beginners.

The camera just needs to have good picture quality and focus options (I love DOF!) like the pictures in this topic, but also somewhat professional video quality (like you see in many YT video's and such).

What are your opinions?

Nice stuff Devyl, I've seen HIM live a couple of times.  :D

Exxon, It should be a good entry camera for you - for shallow DOF you will want to get a lens with a large aperture - f/1.8 etc.

I've finally been able to get to some more Peru photos, here are a couple street style shots as we were driving into Cusco:

The vignetting on the left side must be from the window trim

An aunt of mine may have an extra lens for me!

My first amateur-professional pictures, most are a bit under- or over-exposed ..

@Exxon: Always shoot RAW, you can fix a lot of the mess ups with exposure in post-processing if you shoot RAW without loss of quality.

Some pics I took recently, one panorama shot of Cheddar Village and a few random ones in London.

Here's some shots I took while I was in England last week. Mostly in London, but I was all the way in Cumbria for two days as well. All except for the last three shots were taken with my new Nikon DSLR.

The train station in Carlisle on a bright morning.

I absolutely loved how the sunlight was reflecting off the shard. It was a beautiful morning the day I flew in.

And now for the non-DSLR shots, taken with my mobile phone.

Ha, it's funny how your set and my set of images end up with the same bridge ^_

Edit: Second to last in my set.

Haha, yeah, London Bridge! I didn't even notice at first. I got a wide picture of that as well, with the H.M.S. Belfast in the shot, too.

Nice shot there.

To make it even more creepy, you can pin point your shooting position of the wide Tower Bridge photo in my last image, lol. I took that shot standing on the bridge facing Canary Wharf, so your position can be seen on the left side of the image :D.

And you can see exactly where I took this in that same picture, too!

There's the same old building, and even the sculpture is visible in your last picture, too

Went for a walk with the dog, thought I'd bring my camera.

Taking pictures outside finally lets me shoot at ISO100 and a shutter speed of 1/500th.

(opposed to ISO400 and 1/15th inside).

Looks good! I'd suggest picking up a polarizer lens for water & glass photos. They not only cut glare but can be used to see what's under the surface. Plus you can pick one up for cheap :)

Wow, you guys got some really good cameras. I'm stuck with a EOS Rebel SL1 right now (I've had it for a real long time now) but it does the trick. Nice shots by the way guys.

I'm not the best photographer, but this is what I could muster up for now.

Recently purchased a DSLR. Here's a few experimental shots I took within the first week of owning it.

Hoping to head into Edinburgh next week, to start taking some pro-shots :)

Does anyone know what member took this? It won Best Photograph in the Annual Awards and I need to give them their medal. I can't find the original nomination though and I can only assume it's from this topic.

Thanks.

Well damn, looks as though it may not have been a member here after all, I will give RoadRunner a PM to find out. If it wasn't taken by a GTAF member then that means the 2nd place wins instead.

Thanks Kalvin.
