We are very close to a confirmed map. I mean I don't think they would be the same thing on the dashboard if they weren't maps. Or maybe rockstar wasn't really going into detail and through a couple of blobs on the dashboard to throw something together for the pic/trailer what ever this was.

I still think the water looks disproportionate O.o

I mean, look at the gaps between each island. They're huge, and this game is supposed to be big, which means the bridges must be ginormous.

... Ahhh... Rockstar, you sick bastards. dozingoff.gif

As for the far west part... Is that cut off, or is that all we get for that borough?

I hope this isn't the map. It looks pretty disappointing.

EDIT: Ehh. I dunno. The more I look at it, the more I wonder about that lower section that we can't see. Still, the western part has me pretty peeved.

So we will have to get a boat to get into Bohan? There appears to be no island connecting to it. We could get there by helicopter of course.

Edit: Bohan and Alderney are connected though.

the only problem that i have with this being the map is that Bohan is separate from Algonquin at the top of the map. in real life Manhattan goes straight up into the Bronx. everything else looks pretty accurate though. i'm also wondering if some of the lighter areas that look like water might be sand.

same problem I had when I saw it. Looks more like Staunton than Manhattan. and too much water... great find, though. cookie.gif cookie.gif

Which is why i think this is a little iffy.

The Bohan (Bronx) and Algonquin (Manhattan) separation, could be due to them wanting the map to seem bigger. Ya know, spread things out a bit, so it will be more on par with SA.

There's a bridge connected to each island, so you won't have to travel across water.

I'm convinced. Just have to wait though.

@NoSkillz, et al: Yeah, they did, but they said it was for a fraction of a second. They also said they weren't even sure about it, or that they even saw all of it.

Sure looks like it could be. But more so like the 'mysterious map' in the Lil Probe Inn, in San Andreas. smile.gif

That has to be it icon14.gif

i dont remember where i got this but it said that NJ was suppose to be the largest island

Awsome find guys, really orly.gif
It seems like brooker/dukes island is kind of huge. But i don't like the NJ side, it's really small and i hope it's cut, i was expecting the biggest borought (with sort of useless landspaces).

True. Which makes me more confident that this is indeed the map.

I'm still trying to picture it in proportion to San Andreas.

Does anyone remember what that one interview said about size ratio between Liberty City and San Andreas? I can't seem to remember if it was 2/3 or 3/4, and the interview escapes me at the moment.

4/5's, if I rightly recall.

The game will still be huge despite being slightly smaller than the San Andreas map. It will be more tightly packed together than all that huge desert and country in between the cities.

I guarantee you it will take a while to remember where to go in the game and to memorize the routes and areas, probably weeks if not months, or maybe this is just me confused.gif .

I think it was 3/4 landmass so it was either GTA IV's whole map is 3/4 of the SA landmass or the landmass in IV is 3/4 of SA. Can't remember which one it was though.

Also thanks alot to the guy who found this!

Could be, but didnt Kikizo catch a glimpse of the map, and describe it as two big islands?

That was at E3. They thought they saw to big island joined at the middle, but they admitted they could of been mistaken as they only caught a split second glimpse.

they also said i may have been zoomed in

Not only that, but there won't be any unused areas of the map like in SA where you were roaming around in a, what seemed to neglected place.

Ehhh. Even with all that, i still can't help but feel like Algonquin isn't going to feel nearly as big as I thought it would.

... This is giving me a headache. I wish the TC had never found this. >.>

Im skeptical, but like i said, if the news on the home page magically disapears, or bluespot is found in a bunch of different pieces in boxes scattered around New York, then this is real.

I doubt Rockstar will be pissed off, not that much anyway. We will not really know how big this game really is until we play it.
