So, you're just spraying to act cool? That's not the point of graffiti.

How do u know that, i didn't say that.. anyway.. yea.. that's pretty much it.. i guess its for showing off one's artistic.. side right?

You didn't directly say it but "fill that place with foul language" gives an impression of it.

Can't f*cking stand meaningless words on the walls. Even if you're going to do that, it's not a right place to tell that, you're just going to get disrespected for that.

Writing the equivalent of "F*ck" and "Sh*t" on walls isn't exactly showing off your artistic side. Graffiti can make the dullest and most depressing places feel alive and full of colour and claw them back from the brink, or really make passers by think about something. It can also make the most the most depressing, greyest place in the world that little bit worse with crudely painted tags or "bad" words.

If you're going to deface something, make sure you're not actually defacing it. If you catch my drift.

So what you guys mean is that the words u spray should be meaning less and its should be sprayed on ugly places to make them better?

If you want to spray Just words, then they must have a meaning
example#1
Example#2
And if you want to do that what's called graffiti art, well then it can be any place, but of course, a dull place makes a contrast and a nice look, and of course then you have to practise a lot to get a nice looking result.
For examples, just surf through the pages of this topic, you'll find loads of them.

Graffiti was always a passion of mine, not so much now now!
I might go for the occasional bombing sessions if im pissed off!
But i used to live and breath it for about 5-6 years!

Heres a new-ish sketch of mine:

Me too. I used to write from ages 13-16. (25 now) I used to paint freight trains too. Then I started to drink and that all fizzled away.

Haha, me to man. In second year we used to go down to Heuston Station and fly over the wall at Chapelizod.

It's actually pretty easy, well the last time i was down it was. There's an old bridge on Conyngham Rd Rd, that you can drop down onto a rail bridge and walk on in. But i think there's another way down on the Kilmainham side. Don't know if they've increased security since though.

As today was the last day of the final examination of my present grade, outside the school campus, I, on the cars and brocken trucks did graffiti. Luckily, i get spray cans in a shop, just below my house.
started with "white inks" then the spraypaint.. then hopefully reverse graffiti.
hopefully.. i'll get you guys the pics of my graffiti using white inks, sketch pens, spray paints and by cleaning dust (Reverse Graf.)

I've decided to try out some wheatpaste sticker art around the city. Thought it would fit best in this topic. smile.gif

So I just took the image of the guy with his middle finger up and wrote ''f*ck The System'' on him. Printed out a couple and will be pasting them around the city tomorrow.

I'll probably start doing larger stuff in the future but I want to see how this works out.

Ha thanks, took me about 4 hours to draw out and cut the stencil. I went through 2 scalpel blades too, think I'll use lighter paper next time.
