I ahve seen better avatars. Honestly, it's his big 'C' that attracts my attention, and his funny little anecdote in his signature.

Where is it written that this forum is meant to be democratic? This is a private forum, where you have to be a member to play in the reindeer games. Think of it like a swanky golf country club, where they (GTAF Staff) reserve the right to refuse service because they don't particularly like you or just because they're having a bad hair day...

This is not to say you are required to like them, though they'll probably tell you otherwise.

Oh, OK.

Well, at least I think that moderators should at least forgive you if what you said actually had some meaning; i.e., no malicious words, just some honest, standing-up-for-yourself words.

EDIT: Communism isn't that bad. Then again, you wouldn't know what it's like.

It has order but I wouldn't compare it to a government.

You need certain things to be considered a government according to history and as of yet the internet doesn't quite have the criteria.

Besides, the GTAForums is nothing like any of those governing systems at all.

If you had to compare it to one I suggest asking them what it is like. My guess is maybe something more feudal or barony like or something but in general I believe the political comparison in nonsense.

The forums wouldn't still exist if it were not for Administrators and Moderators and that should be a given.

But if you must then apply it to membership before anything.

Hell, even being a member is a Privilege and that is that if you use such comparisons.

On Topic= I like Svip because he is just crazy and suave enough to keep things interesting.

I'm not denying that. What I am saying though is sometimes a person's dignity and feelings can be hurt by some harsh moderator. I find that unfair.

Whoa...Stefan.

Hey, man I get where your going but let us back track where you have just gone.

No one is responsible for how another feels.

Taking responsiblity for your own feelings is very important.

Being sensitive to others feelings is one of the basis for communication.

However these things get more complicated from there on out.

Seriously, being hurt is very human. Emotions come and then go but they are part of you.

Do you expect someone else to take responsiblity for what you get your hand into when you are careless and physically damage it? ...Of course not and your emotions are the same in that regard.....they're yours and therefore your responsiblity and no one else's.

Regards, HGF

Fair enough, but if someone will keep bullying you, and your feelings are hurt, is it suddenly your fault?

@tutle> perhaps but how fair is it to demand that someone pay for the bird sh*t inside your convertible when you left the top down?

If you had not invested your esteem and emotion in the first place then they would still be intact. Civility works both ways. You must take responsiblity for what is yours if you expect others to do the same.

I am no more perfect at this than anyone else and I have less of an excuse because I am long into the knowledge of these things. Yet I am human' all too human, at times. Being human is forgivable, so if you want your humanity to be forgiven I suggest you do the same.

Blame, Shame and Guilt do not a responsible person make.

In other words, if those things hinder you then ask yourself this.

What can I do to make my life better? What can I choose and develope and accomplish to improve things for myself now and improve things for others at the same time?

And.

How can I change this course of events so I can choose one thing that is preferable to the thing that is not?

These are about responsiblity. Who is to blame for what is the hang up and cornerstone of failure and it is the method for setting yourself up for failure.

I don't want you or any of the GTAForumers to fail but you must also understand this other point. Failure is temperary and quitting is permanent. Permanent solutions for temporary problems is an incredible waste of effort and your time. Better to find things that assist and then find more that assist and then get the inertia going and impove what you can.

Then release your blame, shame and guilt for your trouble is holding on to them after their time is past anyway.

Man, I feel old right now.

Regards, HGF

People need to stop taking everything so seriously. Just about anything can be either taken too seriously, or laughed off. I think intent is important. It really does matter whether the person is trying to hurt your feelings, or if you just have no sense of humor and take something too personally.

Also, how the hell did a topic about Svip's awesomeness turn into people talking about their feelings?

P.S. Hi Dalp.

P.S. Hi Dalp.

I stunbled into it myself and would have just skipped over it but....it was an oppurtunity to assist in an important way.

Not that I am convinced it will assist anyone unless they take the initiatve to apply it yet I figured it worth a shot.

Freaking crazy situations. monocle.gif

I had to jump and do something more than defend the moderators.

Taking responsiblity for your own feelings is more than a responsiblity, it is a freedom.

I hope Svip doesn't demand I pay any more taxes for my embelishment becasue I was defending the moderators as well even if I did take into consideration the needs of the many as well.
(HGF hides from Svip for using the word freedom)

Because its so obvious. Its like having a topic saying the sky is blue. Its just pointless.

And HGF, i see why you feel old. You just ramble on and on in a philosophical fashion. Some of the stuff you say has merit to it, but it just reaks of cliche wisdom. You can be blunt and still sound intelligent. I love to speak obscurely too, but I've grown to recognize that their is a time and a place.

Reasons why I have not closed this topic yet;

1. The ass kissing.

I don't need a second reason.

Also, as a moderator I am paid nothing to be harsh on members. And like previously stated, this is not a democracy. Democracy makes progress so terribly slow. Here, Tank's laziness makes progress so terribly slow.

If you feel your feelings have been hurt, I could not care less, because I lack human sympathy.
