Retexturing GTA3 is a waste of time. The game itself uses 16 bit textures [there's some 8 bit textures too], which would decrease image quality.

Yes it is possible to do. But I'm doing this for SALC , so i probably wont do it for GTA III too. My suggestion would be go get SA instead.

Yes it is possible to do. But I'm doing this for SALC , so i probably wont do it for GTA III too. My suggestion would be go get SA instead.

Hehe, then go get SALC, and wait for this mod to get released then. That is if you want the re-modeled/textured Liberty City. Also, i just started working again, so expect some updates soon.

First of all sorry for the bad quality, but i simply can't run GTA SA with all those fancy GFX options at high. Also the textures arent final, i just took whatever i had in my libary. And the lightning will be redone too.

That screen shot is so ace. The wall under those awesome bricks bugs
me but other than that it looks so pretty. Great work dude, honest injin.

This mod is awesome, and you guys seem mad dedicated.

Nabo is currently re-modelling the AM gas station. Weve remade all of the textures and hes working on the shop roof.

Ive edited in the website address to the front page.

I suggest you making some of your own textures, because as Hammer mapper, I can clearly see those are all from Counter-Strike Source and Half-Life 2.

Many of the textures used here are scratch made. Only the bricks, roof tiles and the concrete are from Half Life 2, the others are scratch made by Hollaz and Cursed.

Yes there is. Just not enogh to be published yet. Though you should know that I am working on something rather big at the moment. But, we can't go on with the mod without a storyline. So if anyone here can write a mafia themed story, and is willing to contribute to a big mod. You are very welcome.

Hehe yeah, he writes good stories. But if we asked him to do it, we would have to pay him. And I'm pretty broke at the moment, so that will have to wait. But if someone wanna do it for free, then please colgate.gif

As you may know XRK has released full paths for SA:LC Liberty City Paths. I know that some people are having problems installing them, but theres an alternative way. Replace all the nodes (0-63) in gta3.img (Rockstar Games/GTA San Andreas/Models) using iRipper, or if you like the manual labour way TXD Workshop. Save and run the game. This way theres no need for a new Img file, and no editing of the gta.dat. Hope this helps biggrin.gif

We have been given permission to use the Liberty City texture pack by B@NDIT. We will be using his vegetation, but have already made new road and pavement textures.

We need some ideas for easter eggs to litter across Liberty City, we already have one or two but could use your creativity.

Nabo is remodelling Luigis at present.

hmm i tired that way, deleting, then adding and rebuilding the node files with an img tool but it still crashed my game whilst loading - do you specifically have to use iripper?

The islands in Liberty City are getting a name change, so if you have any ideas please post here. We also need new names for the areas on the islands, any good requests will be put up in a poll, where the team votes. Also, we are thinking of adding a brand new island near the old Staunton, any idea for the looks and a name for it, post here! smile.gif

Yeah. Bumster has the old texture pack. Its been updated now with new tree textures, better roads (Remade the ones I already had) and variations in pavement. It all looks very nice. Also Bumster isn't using the up to date logo (I'll make one for the topic soon).

Well IMO, the GTA III names for the islands (except Staunton) suck pretty bad. Like Portland, dosent sound like a real name for a place in the city at all. So if you have any suggestions, please let us know. I've also been thinking about our player model, and it would fit the theme, and look good if he had a brown suit or a black pin striped suit, with a matching fedora hat. Like old school gangster fashion, cause thats the whole storyline theme, well at least as far as i know. We also need a name for our guy, so if anyone have a good name for an old itallian mobster, please post here. Also if anyone want to get to know the team better or have any suggestions join us on IRC on #UntoldStoriesLC

With this being the 1980's, blue does not suit the current police cars that we are using, Claude would probably be at school and we cant really have 2001 cars, the only practical one is an airport on Staunton. We are already planning to completely replace the airport on SSV, but have not discussed any relocation. I'll have to ask Nabo. Thanks for the name suggestions Jackoozy. Its good to see the topic has some life, because the mods alive, but just recently the topic fell asleep wow.gif
