Yeah, recycling old GTA III sucks IMO. It's not an orignal idea, it's old and overused.

Maybe, if you (Cursed) find an other leader, would the mod be effective? I thinks there are many people talantuous on this forum, and abandonning a project like that suck too...so check an other lead please !

I didn't mean it like that. This is by far the most promising one. LC2010 is dead,OnePiece said so himself. LCIII is well...y'know. SALC is just a copy of III,same with VCLC,and those LCS mods are LCS TC's.

Who ever has great modding talent get permission from the original mod creator,and just continue the mod from where they left off.

Apparently the rest of the people are currently bored with this. It is "resting peacefully" at the moment.

My involvement is for a remodel of the same city; team mates already know to count me in when development is in that direction and restarted. smile.gif

Poll is a little too close to call right now. If you'd like this happen faster; I suggest alerting your modding buddies of this poll who may not yet know about it. As it stands; it's too divided to pick a direction.

Well,after a while working with Gostown, i go here because i need to change ideas to have news, and so i contact nabo few days ago to he give me a lot just to see if i could do something interesting in this mod too...
So, i show us this now because i convince nabo to continue this mod, and he is agree with me, but we need more talentuous modelers and guys who want to help us to give to Liberty a new face !
For now, it's very Wip, but that represent the lot 5 of the lotmap which is a Red Light District lot...

Humn Danny, as I said i'ts very WIP, and i thinks some people like you, starter and other modeler, sometimes mistaken about HD (Hight Detailed) and HP (Hight Polys) .You ask me to put more window to have a better render, but putting some 3D window is killing SA framerate, and more if those window are in a inaccessible ways, it's using polys for nothing, so i Think putting a good texture is sometimes more HD than making 3D windows...

And, i've to said to, saty here waiting update after i will have textured it because, it's will be more HD than you're thinking seeing this screens...maybe i will inclued a new little "safehouse" here too...

Yeah Rawra, maybe your lot will look unfinished before texturing, but after this will be more fine ingame because, SA will run correctly without lags and you will have the same renders because all the non 3D windows are not show because there are in place where you can't go, without the rocket pack wink.gif

so, only put 3d detail in places where the player will/might look. Like the front of the shops etc.

By this way you can, with the same polycount, made a much better and HD detailed place than one other where you do 3D windows everywhere !-

Yes! Great! Just make it looking good and optimize coll. Today i tested object with 20k faces and box collision - FPS didn't decrase much at all.

I've seen it Vecis, but it's was just a little wall 1m by 1m, imagine building with your brick wall, you will kill the framerat, but test, we never know !

Well, think of your Col file, not your DFF. Windows are fine if you don't make their collisions so high poly as your DFF.

Easy thing is model what is solid -> put it in game -> open project in 3D program again -> add detail ->> use same old col.

Will take some practice to get it "right" but once you figure out how to not mess up xform, for instance, you can do this fast and easy and get high details without performance hit (except "pop ups", those are from high res texture/high poly col)

Was it prelighted (really, with shadows and bright and dark areas, not just one value across the whole thing)?

Level design is like that; where the places matter, design them higher quality, and places that don't matter, design them lower quality. But modding is 100 percent quality, so make low detail col where the player will TOUCH, but f*ck what he doesn't touch, that can be primitive. Like, windows again... Model them, but col just a flat wall. wink.gif

^^ Thats right. From the ground you can see 3D windows, but doesn't mean you have to be able to go inside them. I can undertand 2D windows in the top half of a skyscraper though. We are starting to get back on track now, I think the temporary closure of the mod was a good thing, because it gave us time to be inspired, without having the pressure of getting work done, plus it was a good rest throughout easter.
