It sucks to be the first person on the page, talking about the last person's post.

But Weller just cleaned up shop. If I was a Yotes fan, I'd be happy. If I was a Bluejackets fan, I'd be pissed.

QUOTE (Carolina Hurricanes Website)
RALEIGH, NC— Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that center Rod Brind’Amour will have reconstructive knee surgery after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee during the first period of Thursday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Dr. Marty Isbell will perform the procedure on Friday at Rex Hospital, and Brind’Amour is expected to be out of action for four to six months.

Yeah, losing Roddy is a blow that I don't know if they can take this late in the season, when they already have a few key players out, and Cory Stillman moving.

Bump.

Talk about an insane blowout. Washington is crushing Boston 9-2 and Ovechkin has a hat trick.

How long did that take? Like 2-3 games after his return?

So how about them "Habs" ehh. smile.gif

I can't beleive the Montreal Canadians are in like 1'st or 2'nd place now in the Eastern Conference. My impression of them was allways that they were a team that allready had there fame and now they were going downhill. I had never really liked them since I started watching hockey.

But now that they are doing so good I'm starting to like them. I'm at the point now where I rooting for the Candians more then the Senators. They have played a great season so far and I'd love to see them make it to the Stanley Cup Finals and even win.

Other News.

OMG Sid is out again. whatsthat.gif

Not many people can actually say they have met him but I'm one of those people that can. biggrin.gif

Both teams have "goaltending issues". At least the Canadiens don't have to deal with an asshole to solve theirs.

I don't understand why people are saying it should have been more? Why, because you don't like the guy?

I also don't understand why people think it's as bad as Chris Simon stomping Jarkko Ruutu. Simon stepped on, put his whole weight into, and pretty much stood on Ruutu's foot with the other leg off the ice. Pronger steps on Kesler, during play, out of retaliation for Kesler hold his leg.

Now, I'm not saying he didn't do anything wrong, or that it was justified. I'm just saying, everyone, especially western Canadians, seem to condemn Pronger before sufficient evidence was even shown.

Because He is making 6mil+ a year, and this isn't much more than a slap on the wrist and a little vacation. he used his skate as a weapon.

Steve downie gets a 20 game suspension for leaving his feet before a hit, yet stomping somebody with a skate is only 8 games?

So Pronger kicking a guy's leg is just as bad as Simon jumping on another guy's leg? I don't think so. Simon knocked Ruutu over during a stoppage of play for arguing with a teammate. If you think that someone kicking another person in the heat of the moment, deserves the same punishment as someone knocking another guy over with the specific intent to injure by jumping on his foot, then you need to reevaluate your definition of justice.

Personally, I hate the whole situation. Chris Pronger has single handedly made the Ducks a "dirty team" in just two seasons. And if it weren't for the fact that he is an awesome defenseman, I'd hate him.

I guess if this discussion lasts long enough it will be brought down to the level of skating beside the guy.

Yeah, so what? He kicked him, he stomped him, he stepped on him. Holy sh*t, lets hope someone doesn't like to use a synonym here or there, we might confuse somebody.

But my point still stands. Simon's STOMP was worse than Pronger's STOMP.

EDIT: Anyone find it not the least bit surprising that the Ducks only had one penalty tonight without Pronger?

Going to the Wild game tonight against Colorado. A HUGE game for us (3 way-tie going on right now in the NW Division). Hoping they can keep the train rolling. Keep an eye on this Division, it's going to be a shootout for the playoff spot.

As for the Pronger thing. He's out for the rest of the regular season right (which is my guess on the duration of the suspension)? Seems like a big enough on the Ducks especially in a playoff race confused.gif

Speaking of Vesa Toskala and the Toronto Maple Leafs, what do you guys think they will do?

They are in the position now where they can either try and just sneak into the 8'th and final spot or they can not try that hard and not make the play offs and get a higher draft pick. Thats a tough call.

Keep an eye on the West. With the Wild win over Vancouver tonight Nashville is tied for 8th in the playoff race. Gonna be a great last few games over here.

This is good. Nashville probably has the better schedule for their remaining games except maybe Detroit. It'll still be tight but hopefully Nashville can get another run in the playoffs.

But even if Nashville does make the playoffs they'll be up against Detroit first round, so that's not favourable. Oh well, there's always the chance that the Wings will choke in the playoffs again.

If I were to make a bet right now on who is going to win the cup, it'd be the Sharks, then the Ducks, then the Red Wings.

Not so sure about the Wings. Sure, they have a 113 (possibly 115) points season going, but they have that kind of season EVERY year and choke big time in the play-offs.

Ducks. Too physical. Too many penalties, too many power-plays. That ususally kills a team. I know the refs slack on the whistle in the play-offs, but not THAT much.

Sharks: Solid contenders, especially now that their offence finally woke up.

Avalanche: Watch out. They could cause surprises.

Canadians: We're gonna go far, but I don't see a cup this year sad.gif

Pinguins: I think Sid the kid can do it this year
