I haven't paged through all of this thread so please excuse me if someone already took the time to post some old school Toots stuff.

Because It's true.

Might be the most popular Toots song

I really wanted to include 'Catfish John' because it has special meaning to me, but there doesn't seem to be a youtube. So here is a good take on a John Denver song.

I saw chaka demus and pliers live about two weeks ago. They were only on for about hour and a half and they f*cked up the soundsystem..loads of static and feedback, it was an embarrassment really. Still, it was free.

Yeah man, sad news indeed.

My mate's a DJ on the local radio, very fittingly doing a reggae show on Monday nights. They've been playing all his hits.

My mother has all his albums, this news is especially heartbreaking to her...

R.I.P, you're in a better place

Posted this in a topic not so long ago, and it got a good rating:

My dad was into all this music, so I grew up listening to it all, and now am starting to get my own collection of it. Obviously I have alot ot Bob Marley, but there's alot better stuff out there.

I met John Holt in my local about 3 months ago, him and Maxi Priest were in concert down here. He knew the landlady in my local so popped in for a guiness. Nice chap.

Big bump.

For the record I'm a sizzla fan. Been since he showed up hanging with some of the old timers.

But the reason for the bump. I'm sitting here listing to my entire 2tb collection of sh*t on random and this just came up.

If it wasn't getting so late I'd stay here and post what ever comes up on my playlist in the appropriate thread tounge2.gif

Time for another big bump. And I feel extra weird for this one because it is a double post with almost the exact same story and artist. What that f*ck???

Sitting here on random...blah blah blah.

My met went to see Max Romeo here in Dublin. The Congos were supporting him. We were checking out some videos and we found this one. I knew I heard it before. It got kind of big in France and I think it was played a few times in this bar that has Reggae night every Thursday in my city.

It's a very warm and catchy song. Reccomended for everyone. Sad thing is.. I just read that the singer got murdered. He was stabbed to death. This track is amazing..The lyrics are very sadly ironic considering he was murdered soon after.

The Congos are seen here.

It is good that some people can still pull of roots. That was nice stuff. Thanks for the turn on.

I'm trying to find this one song. I just don't have the full song.

It's called Chan Dizzy - Herbalist but it's a remix with Sniggy.

Buump

There's far too much roots reggae in this thread, and far too little rocksteady and skinhead reggae.
