I'm going to go ahead and say no.

It's possible, but only for advanced modders. For all intents and purposes, modding on the PC is far easier and is the option you should take.

Simple, get a modding chip for your ps2 (mod chips are illegal) and get your sa PS2 disk and put in your computers dvd drive, manual mod install, burn it back to the disk and play your modded GTA.If you did use a mod chip your gta san andreas game for ps2 would crash while loading like the PC.good luck finding a mod chip.

you can also use SwapMagic etc.
Also modchips arent illegal, they can be illegal, but some are legal - however: using backupgames is not legal - even if you own them as original

I wouldn't mod the ps2, because i think you would have to buy a new disk
if the game crashes.

If you have just modded your PS2 GTA SA.... then your " F*cked ". You can't mod PS2 without a mod chip. Even then it is extremely difficult. Don't mod your PS2 SA.... stick to the PC version if you want to mod.

hello, please refer to my topic on these forums. I would be happy to supply a link if you need it. can someone tell me what kinds of things are possible? like, can we make changes to peds.ide? I believe i have tried that before, but it just freezes at the loadign screen, and then says "error reading San:Andreas Disc', or something like that. I have the MC exploit installed. I am able to play backups. One thing i was wondering about are even the text files protected by crc32 just like the game saves? because i believe they are. and what is the method for making a modded disc? just like it is for a ps2 with a hdd?, or as simple as adding the mods, reburning, and playing?

it's possible, but you gotta be a REAL advanced modder to mod PS2 version without dealing with crashes
