I Have GTA 3 for PC, and when i installed it on my PC for the first time,
I got the message converting textures. When it finished converting textures,
the game ran. Then i wanted to delete them, but txd.img and txd.dir weren't
in the models folder. So i ran a search for it. But there was no txd.img and txd.dir.
So i tryed reinstalling, but no luck. This time i didn't get the message
'Converting Textures'. The files weren't still there. The reason i'm posting
about it is, that i wanted to try some car mods. I never had this problem on my old computer, Xp.

System Specs:
1024 mb RAM
ATI Radeon Xpress 1100
My video card, is now 388MB
Direct X 10
1.6 GHZ processor (Type is Intel Pentuim)
Windows Vista
No mods.

But the game, runs very smooth though.

Someone, please help me sneaky2.gif

Did you read here.

It happened on the first day i bought my new computer, so my drivers can't be out of date.
And i tryed getting them files from the max payne mod, but the cars were white, the modded one's, but
and i have tryed reinstalling again but still no luck confused.gif . Can someone please help me then.
But my specs are high, and my drivers are new, so i don't think it can be that.

Are your car textures converted to GTA3 mode?
Edit them with TXD Workshop.

I have the exact same problem. No txd.img or txd.dir anywhere. It must be Vista then because I have it too. Does anybody have any idea how Vista would have made this happen because it's really annoying.

The only advice I can give you would be to delete the gta 3 set file and the gta 3 directory then reinstall the game if you havenít already.

I also get the 'Converting Textures' message the first time I play the game after a reinstallation.

Sorry but i'm afraid you may have to re-install your OS(0perating system) when u un-install gta3 (or any pc gta) the disc takes in all the files from your gta3 directory(folder) so if u re-install it it just takes all the files you un-installed and put's them back into the directory.the only way past and to get all the files and folders perfect is to re-install your operating system....
