Daft Punk's Homework is one of the most essential albums of the 1990s to me. I was never really a massive fan of theirs because I can't hold one good album accountable for such a statement. I can't say I cared too much for their material following it, and in my opinion Random Access Memories is a bloated, confused mess. Comparing the two is so difficult because they've evolved so much. I can't help but admire how they try something new for every album, and I do wonder what they'll come out with next.

I've been lucky to see The Prodigy live back in 2002 at Witness festival. It was one of the most mental concerts I've seen.

They do a good live show.

Aphex Twin interviewing Tatsuya Takahashi ex Korg engineer and now advisor for Korg. They working on microtuning for new Korg.  There's also a track called Korg Funk 5 synth. Really Presumably it's named  relatively to Fenix Funk 5. Not sure what he means by "Funk 5" when he does these mad jams on a particular synth. All good though.

I read that yesterday. I couldn't be bothered to create my own scale for a song but it does make your music kinda unique. I do want to get a Korg Minilogue at some point (probably next year) but they are a bit pricy over here.

I've been listening to a lot of d&b lately. I can't get enough of these drums.

Yeah that's great man. I haven't listened to good D&B in a while. A lot of the D&B the last few years are using this irritating kind of stretched snare that get's on my wick. It's all very homogenized now.

I think I know what you mean. It's similar to the type of snare that Pendulum or Netsky use, or a variation of that. It kinda sounds like a heavily modified\distorted TR-808/909 snare. I don't really mind it as long as the song has other stuff going for it but I like to listen to all types of d&b. I like Camo & Krooked because they experiment a lot with sounds. I also really love Calyx & Teebee (I got introduced to them in GTA 3) and artists such as Urbandawn and S.P.Y. All of this is coming from popular d&b YouTube channels and labels. It's not just crappy generic electronic music.

Aphex Twin has finally gave us a glimpse at how he was using Player Pro to process music. "Most likely sampled from his vast array of hardware" and put through Player Pro.

Vordhosbn with out the mental beat..

Is deep/tropical house, downtempo, and chillwave allowed in this topic? I know there's another topic that says chillwave but I'm not really into the 80's revival stuff.

Sure, if it's electronic, post in here. This is a nice umbrella topic for all sorts of genres and subgenres.

Dug out an old dark Techno track I did. Also, any hard/experimental electronica fans over here? (be it Aphex Twin, german hard trance artists, Angerfist and other Dutch hardcore, doesn't matter) I set up a Discord server, perhaps anyone would like to join to chit-chat? If I shouldn't have said that then remind me of it.

Pretty cool man. I like the bit after 4mins with piano and the trancey kind of lead.

Anyone here a fan of Burial?

I love Burial, and I quite like his latest releases. They drew a lot of negative opinion because they're so empty and they don't have much in the way of that trademark percussion but they're lovely dark ambient tracks. I hear them more as indents, or little breaks in between the beefier and lengthier songs. He recently released a remix of Mønic's "Deep Summer" track back in July and it's fantastic.

Discovered this artist fairly recently, I spent some time going through his discography and it's fairly consistent.

I recommend his albums My Yellow Wise Rug and The Four Cornered Room.

I saw Perturbator earlier this year, he was excellent. Met him before the show too, I was taken aback by just how young he looks and is. Didn't know he had new stuff looming but he is touring again and he's in my area in November so that may be worth a repeat visit.

Here's one of my favourites of his:

I've recently been re-listening to Ben Frosts 2014 album A U R O R A and I can see why I loved it so much back then without a doubt my favourite album of 2014
