I then tried SA on an old xbox and i'll have to say, xbox controls in a GTA game pretty much sucked a s s.
If i find GTAIV to be that unbearable with the 360 controller, i'll certainly opt for that adapter.

Neither do I, i just think that the 360 controller is better for driving games. And the playstation controller is more suited to GTA. |
The Xbox 360 controller was made for shooters. It's really hard to get used to shooters on the PS3 because the two analog sticks are right next to each other which makes for extremely awkward controls.

the PS3's controller hands down, no questions asked..... a ps controller was the first controller to play GTA, so it is perfect - original - logical that itll work better IMO |
Ok calm down Tuvok.

That's NOT logical. It's true with the previous GTAs because they were a port to the xbox, but Rockstar is going to cater to the 360 controller's specific needs as much as they will to the PS3's. So both the controllers should be optimized for their respective version of the game.

Nobody will ever answer this, What do they mean by Sixaxis? Did PS2 have? |
the PS3 controller is called sixaxis that because it has motion sensing on six axis's
the PS2 controller was called the dual shock 2 (dual shock one was the PS1 controller)

PS3 Sixaxis = WORST CONTROLLER EVER!!! the L2/R2 "triggers" are total crap, no rumble, the motion sensing is useless/terrible and the controller freakishly light.
The X360 controller is amazing for shooting games but its gonna be hard for me to get used to the GTA controls since I have been playing the PS2 for the past 5-6 years. Oh and are you seriously gonna have to repeatedly smash one of the buttons for the car to go fast?!?... didn't play a racing game for the 360 yet....

Edit: i don't know about the PS1 GTA's. Were they exclusive to PS1 first or did they come out on PC at the same time? or am I missing something? |
Yeah, you're sure missing something. All the classic GTAs were released for PC first (except for GTA London 1969 I think), and then ported over to PS1.

Playstation. It's more origional, better feel. The xbox controller is too chunky for me. |
They are both practically the same, having held a mates 360 controller that's my opinion.

Is it even confirmed whether the PS3 version will use the SixAxis feature, if not then the two controllers will play the exact same, unlike past GTA's i'm sure both controllers will use the same button layout. |
Rockstar 'weren't sure' how to use the sixaxis. Hopefully they will.

I hope they don't, its a stupid feature really. Its just thrown into some games, not really any thought just plonked in. And you usually have the option to turn it off, so yeah.
GTA started on the Playstation, the controls were great. So obviously Im going to say Sixaxis.
