If clothes are like VC i think it would be fine, but if that's the case then i want a lot and i want them to be very nice, apart from that, i am thinking of the possibility that maybe we'll forget about customization with all the new stuff that they're gonna bring, think about it, they sacrificed planes and customization for a reason...

This is kinda off topic, but that picture of him wearing a blue track suit looks pretty cool with those gloves. If they all look good and compatible with his other garments, then i don't mind if we can choose every garment he wears. colgate.gif

I on your page. I liked the fact that you were able to look how you wanted to in SA being able to mix and match your outfit, but there was just so much stuff that you really wouldnt wear. I think Rockstar can come up with a bunch of nice present outfits that would appeal to alot of people with different tastes.

Nice post rainmaker. I agree with how R* are showing this image of Niko. I mean basically he won't be the type of guy wearing a bandana or going topless.
Relating with that, Niko will possibly go on wearing something in these categories: Designer clothing, Formal attire, Leather, Sports, Casual, Outdoor.

Now some of the "famous" brands/shops that offer those types of clothing in NYC are:

Designer clothing
Calvin Klein
Chanel
Dolce & Gabbana
Gucci
Zara

Formal attire
Dante Zeller
B & P
VIP
Brooks Brothers
Hugo Boss (can also be under "designer clothing")

Leather
Ferragamo
Coach
Zooloo

Sports, Casual, Outdoor
A B C Superstore
Apollo
Broadway Sportswear
Bronx Sportswear
Casual Express Apparel
D & H
Gap
Quicksilver
Pronto
Sneaker Zone
Zic

The list is HUGE, so I can go on and on. But those names seem the most appropriate for R* to mimic in IV. I'll add this to the main post.

Transporter™

you've definitely got to consider army&navy stores, theres a lot of those out here and they sell cloths very similar to what hes been wearing so far...

...perhaps you can purchase things such as special ammo and weapons attachments too cool.gif ...

...just a thought dozingoff.gif

Yep, I like Ralph Lauren Polo too. Hopefully there will be something matching their style in the game.

Well as I've mentioned multiple times on the topic, we don't have much information on clothing other than it will be in the game. I'm just showing the possibilities on what we may find. In the coming months, hopefully we will get a clear answer on how it's going to work (VC or SA or something completely different).

Well I all I've seen him wearing so far: a tracksuit(s), gloves, coat/jacket and shoes. Don't know how those are related to Army or even Navy... It's more like casual/cheap clothing.

Anyhow, I'm soon going to update the main post and add more on the Shops and Garments section.

Still I need more ideas and opinions on clothing from you guys... biggrin.gif

Sorry for the double post but I did a major update to the main post (mainly to the Shops and Garments section).
Have a look at it and tell me what you think about the clothes I've added or even tell me if you have a good garment to be added to the list.

A voice in my head: "Why isn't there a bump button?"

Wow, great updates, Transporter!

While there isn't much to say right now, I have to add that this (and you) is (are) very organized and commendable. When the updates start coming, this'll really take off.

Your assumptions, predictions, and estimations seem to be correct as far as I can see - even regarding it as opinion, it has some substance and I'd be willing to say will most likely hold up as a fact.

I do have to point out, one of the sections mentions WEAR to shop; this should be changed to WHERE to shop. I'm not sure if you're punning or if you just slipped up - it seems pretty clever to me, so I'd keep it anyway.

Thanks for a brilliant idea, Transformer!

I think you should add the recent mention of material physics (from XBox 360 magazine) to your main post thing.

I think u shuld ad gloves to the list, you can see he's wearing them, and i think it would be cool to buy different kinds, like biker gloves, fingerless, etc. if this has been said or gloves have been added already then please excuse me.

Well I see absolutely no reason why they would add it to peds and not Niko. If they were only to add it to certain people, Niko would be the main one to have it.

And I agree that gloves would be a cool addon, since the hands aren't blobs anymore biggrin.gif

But seeing gloves on Niko makes me worry....So far all that we've seen gloves on are those pre-made suits like in VCS, and I hate those =(

And about the "wear" thing, I think you get the idea. wink.gif

Me neither mate. Hopefully clothing fans like us will get something similar to SA (or something even better than that sigh.gif ).

Hmm... Well first of all, is the Euphoria Engine even confirmed to be in GTA IV? I thought they were going to use the RAGE Engine... (reading in the magazine previews) I always seem to get confused with these 2 engines...

Look closely under "Leather" in the "What to Wear?" section.

And you're excused. biggrin.gif

Well nothing too exciting about clothing in the new Xbox 360 preview (except the image shaboobala posted).

Why don't some people understand that the Rage engine creates the graphics and visuals, and Euphoria if used creates the real time physics. OK two separate things just support one another two give a highly realistic experience.

Niko's clothing should impact on how he is treated by NPCs.

For Example:

If Niko receives a mission which takes place in a big Manhattan corporate office building, he would be treated with less suspicion if he were to walk in wearing a nice suit. However, if he were to come in with the clothes he is wearing in the trailer, the secretary might become suspicious and tell Security to keep an eye on him.

Or another mission where he has to find a gangster in the Bronx, just the opposite is true. Niko may have to ask some street kids where to find the person he's looking for and if he turns up in a suit, they'll think he's a cop and won't tell him anything.

Well that could work. It would be nice to have some missions that necessitate a unique piece of clothing or something.
I like the second example with the street kids... I could really see that being implemented.

I think buying cloths and over accessories (sunglasses, jewelry, hats, gloves etc) is a very very important thing for me.

I want it like SA but with adding the features of wearing jewelry, not just one chain and one bracelet i want to be able to wea 3 or 4 chains, bracelet/watch on each wrist, loads of rings (like SR). I also think they shoud add buying gloves aswel. I also want to see more types of clothing per store (if there is this feature).

Keeping the haircuts and facial hair is very very important to me aswel. I don't mind about tattoes but i would like that to be in the game.

Anyway all im saying really is keep it like SA but add more choices of clothing and the abiltity to buy jewelry and gloves.

Well I liked tattoos but yea your right rahkstar2.gif just needs to keep it like sa with more choices of hair styles and most important clothes.

Haven't seen this in here , but I found it from the trailer a while back:

SHODI

Looks like a department-store-type-clothing bag to me.
And thanks to TinCan for pointing out this is not the first time we've seen this brand:

Uh, they said that when you go into a store you now pick the clothes off the rack at first I wasn't too sure on how that helped but because of reading a post by someone I now understand....I think it will be used so that you can umm... how do I say this, like you know how in San Andreas you went into the closet and wasted plenty of time trying on everything so you could see how it looks. I think this rack thing will now allow you to see and get an idea of how it looks before wearing it, saving plenty of time. And I don't think the Vice City clothing will be in affect, because in the article they also said that they bought a suit and then shoes, coming up to like 2 grand altogether.
