"Jay-Z Reasonable Doubt" & "Nas Illmatic" those two are New York Classics.

This is out of my character, but how about some Rick Roll?

I would love some bob marley.
Hearing Little Jacob roll up in a total bomb
smoke pouring out of the windows and hearing "Smile Jamaica" would be gold.

I think it'd be standard for them to have him rolling up that way every time we meet him. It would be hilarious (even though it's been done to death) but just plain awesome. icon14.gif

@Topic: To be honest, I'd like the stations to be so rich with style and various genres that it'd take a long while before I even consider using my own music. Also, I'd like to discover many artists and tracks, pretty much like it was with all past GTAs, especially VC. Judging off of them using that very obscure NYC band for the 2nd trailer, it should be like that, in ways, so no worries.

Seeing as some of the members have suggestted songs they'd like to see make an appearance in seperate topics, i thought we could all post our suggestions here.

I propose we post our suggestions with a video, so people can listen to the track on page and then post their opinions. To do this, we'll use the handy "youtube" tags.

Following a simple layout we could all discuss each other's suggestions.
Layout

CODE
[b][*]Song: [COLOR=red]*Insert title here*[/COLOR][/b]
[b][*]Artist: [COLOR=yellow]*Insert artist here*[/COLOR][/b]
Youtube Videos

If possible, to save people having to open new windows you can post a Youtube video of the music track (No other material)

To do this, first find a video on youtube, and extract the specific code for that video in the link:
user posted image

Then place the codes between these tags.
CODE
[youtube] <------ At beginning of Code
[/youtube] <------ At end of Code

So in this example, i would post:
CODE
[youtube]4vAQLKJk5c8[/youtube]
I'll start the ball rolling;

I chose this track becuase the organs remind me of east europe, alot like Niko Bellic himself, i could see this being used in a chase scene where Niko is running through alleys to hide or something.

•Song: Organ Donor (Extended Overhaul)
•Artist: DJ Shadow

So, let's have some fun. smile.gif

thats song is f'ing good great selection in music bro javascript

A lot of the music I'm seeing here just ain't my taste but maybe in a GTA it would be cool? dozingoff.gif I would like a nice mix of genres like in previous GTA's. If I had to choose I would like a classic rock channel similar to KDST or a good metal one like V-Rock, a power ballad station like emotion 98.3 or VCFL and a pop station like the Flash's (preferble from the past as most moderm pop is sh*te), also a funky new groove or hip hop station would be good like fever 105 and master sounds.

I know there will be a good amount of NYC artists which means :

Hip-Hop (WU-TANG CLAN!!, Biggie, Eric B & Rakim, Afrika Bambaata, Mobb Deep KRS-One "WHOO-WHOO! That's the sound of da police!") New York created Hip-Hop so I'm sure there will be multiple stations just like in SA

Punk\Rock (the Ramones, Sonic Youth, Velvet Underground) I'd love to run from the cops to Sonic Youth's Bull in the Heather. Joey Ramone has a street named after him in the Bowery, there WILL be at least one Ramones track.

Jazz (John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker) New York is the Jazz Capital of the World so I expect to hear some, especially from the civil rights era or some of Miles' electric stuff like 'On the Corner'.

Salsa\Latin (Fania Records-Willie Colon, Hector Lavoe) Salsa was also created in NYC so there has to be a Latin station no question.

I trust R* wholeheartedly with the soundtrack and I like the fact that instead of limiting it to music from a certain time period, the music chosen will reflect the feeling of NYC.

I personally have faith that the game will not cater to music specific to the character, the location or the time period. That doesn't add to realism to be honest. As to the Kyuss suggestion, I like that early 1990s effort from them... Blues for a Red Sun

I'm pretty sure Aerosmith was mentioned, I always liked the song Chip Away the Stone from them.
Get Your Wings LP songs or of course, the now immortal ROCKS album!!! A must own

...That last YT clip made me think, the Melvins should also be in the game!

Sounds absurd, but some years back I read of a custom Cadillac built using two Northstar 32 valve engines and they had a custom transaxle as well that made them work in unison... HIGHLY impressive!!

I just know most of the game will be full with music I find to be unlistenable anyway. Seems video games have to be jam-packed with heavy thrash-metal or hip-hop. Not a fan of any of that stuff. I'll probably get stuck listening to the country station, after getting bored of the classic rock station, like I did in SA. Hopefully, you'll be able to stream your own music off the PS3 while you play, otherwise, it may be a radio-less game for me. And let's hope they truly upgrade the game by taking out Laszlo.

I know I'm in the minority, & people will call me nuts (especially for the Laszlo statement), but it's my opinion & I'm sticking by it.

Ya, I myself want a lot of indie, acoustic, soft-rock stuff.

That stuff really mellows me out, I love it.
