.FBX to Gmax

I create my models with Cinema 4d. The textures are also put on the models in C4d. Then the model is exported to the .3ds file format. In Gmax I import the file and convert it to .dff and .col with Kams Scripts.
But there's a problem with exporting the model to .3ds. Many textures of the .c4d format don't work in .3ds. But I found out that they work in the .fbx format. Here's my question: Is there any possibility to import the .fbx file format in Gmax?

I've been around the block, it would do you well to ditch C4D and move on to Max power!
