I nearly got hit by two buses and a limo in New York. Fun times.

Also, having seen the middle space in a subway tunnel I have even more respect for the New Yorker who saved that guy last year. God I would have been afraid of a scene from starwars playing out and the garbage monster (Dianoga for the 1 crazed fan reading this) jumping out at me...

The Subway wasn't that bad... not the cleanest place on earth but I felt it was worse on the surface at times myself.

Of course the old Liberty City had a subway but I hope this time it will be more extensive, with more than one or two stations per island and multiple lines, with stations where you can change trains. The subway is ubiquitous in NYC and Liberty City needs that. Hopefully you can ride as a passenger in taxis too (get in, pick a spot on the map, and enjoy the ride). If you have a controllable cellphone in the game you should certainly be able to call a cab.

One of the listing on the phone was "cab contacts".

Gives a good idea for scale.

Next time, cut'n'paste the roads off of the VC and SA maps, just to make it look more official.

It's kinda like the difference between Streets and Avenues... I'm pretty sure one is wider than the other and they both are in cities.

QUOTE
Highway
A main public road, especially one connecting towns and cities.

QUOTE

Freeway
1. an express highway with no intersections, usually having traffic routed on and off by means of a cloverleaf.

2. a toll-free highway.

Felt like looking it up just for the hell of it. The big difference appears to be the intersection part...

QUOTE
Secondly, who cares.

I'm just really bored.

Note for TIBABONK: Central Park would probably be directly north of your map. (It would probably be called BELLEVILLE PARK)

Concerning freeways or highways or whatever...

Looks like quite a bit of street to me.

I am quite aware of that, if you look at my map you can see that I made 7th Avenue stop north of buildings #26 & 27 where Central Park would start. However, there is no proof from either the trailer or the screenshots where Central Park will be placed in the game. And since I want to keep guessing out of the map as far as possible (so far I think only parts of the street layout - Downtown, Columbus Circle, around MetLife Building - are without evidence) I didn't include it yet. But thanks anyway.

And something else:

Could that be the Bank of America Tower? And if yes, could it also be that weird window-less looking building behind St. Patrick's Cathedral in this shot?
However, from what I understand, that building won't finish construction before 2008. Any other ideas for buildings with that kind of spire?
Or is that just the top of the Bertelsmann Building?

Thats really hard to tell from that shot since its so grainy. I doubt its the Bank of America building since its hasnt even topped out yet.

If I had to guess id say the Empire State Building from far away.

So it can't be the Empire State Building (#13). I also believe that the Conde Nast Building is the one labeled as #2. You can see in this shot that it doesn't have a spire like that. In that shot you can also see that it can't be the Chrysler Building, given it's position in relation to the Conde Nast and Empire State.

I'm sure this may be new to some of you but the Manhattan (Algonquin) Bridge shown below has 2 sets of subway tracks on the lower deck on both sides underneath the upper roads. I'm not sure at all how Rockstar will handle that but in reality the 4 lines that run on it go from the subway, onto the bridge and back into the subway.

I know that this is testing the waters a bit but if the city is large enough, maybe R* could add express trains that could whisk you around the city quickly. And lastly, I'm hoping they surely give it that true NYC flare...Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn...Subway DrumsSubway Performances, Subway Performances #2

Probably supposed to be the green square in the middle of Algonquin, though Central Park IRL is rectangular and runs with the island as such...

If my theory on how every GTA game goes clockwise and west, and your map are correct, here's the places that will be unlocked in order:

1. Bohan, unlocked from beginning
2. Dukes
3. Broker
4. Algonquin
5. Alderny
