Numbers don't matter (to most people) but those digits for 50 Cent's 'Animal Ambition' are in and it sold approx 47k according to Soundscan via HipHopDX. I know we don't usually talk numbers in here (dope music is dope music regardless) but that low number sticks out like a sore thumb for 50, who has spent a long time making fun of others for selling low.
I saw it coming. Like mentioned previously, there are perhaps 2-3 decent songs on the tracklist. I've heard he's playing the 'but it's an indy album' card, which is bullsh*t given the level of promotion he's invested into this.
The funny thing to 50 is he's made more on that album than most other hip-hop artists now he's left Aftermath and Interscope.
The album was originally meant to be a mixtape but he turned into an album to kick off his new record deal. I imagine a lot of money would of went into album promotion but the album wasn't exactly anticipated. 50 just dropped a studio album on us out of no where. His Street King Immortal album will perform better in sales now that G-Unit are back.
