The Universal Wrestling Topic
Version 2.0

Self-explanatory from the title and previous thread: A place to talk about Wrestling. From WWE, TNA, and many indie federations across the world from America to Japan and back.

Please do not come into the Universal Wrestling Topic and say "I used to watch wrestling, then it got sh*t." It will not be tolerated.

Thanks to the original creator of the UWT, Kevin_79. He hasn't been active in many months, so I hope he doesn't mind that I started Version 2 off.

A lot of the original posters in that thread are gone. I think I'm the only one left. Gordo, Menace, and Kevin have all apparently quit watching.

Well, wrestling is sh*t now, but I watch anyway.

I saw the delayed Raw tonight. So thankfully Vince and Donald won't be getting in the ring themselves. I'm hoping Donald goes with Foley and Vince goes with Shane.

We're headed into the Wrestlemania run. Main events are going to be Cena vs. HBK for the WWE (Raw) Title, and Batista vs. Undertaker vs. the World (Smackdown) Title. Also, Vince and Trump will be in the corners of wrestlers to be determined. Whoever loses, the billionaire will get his head shaved Fun-filled fact: last time Wrestlemania was in Detroit, Piper won a hair vs. hair match against Adrian Adonis that saw Brutus Beefcake turn face and cut Adonis' hair, starting off his Barber gimmick.

Dusty Rhodes got the nod for the WWE Hall of Fame. I wasn't a fan of his, but then again all I remember were his WWF years of polka dots and Sapphire. He's obviously accomplished a lot in the NWA, and that's what he deserves to be inducted on. I also hope Ted DiBiase gets in this year. Aside from Bruno Sammartino, he's the one who most deserves induction.

I'm getting tired of all the heels losing constantly. I mean common on Raw last night Carlito loses to the 60 year old Flair, Masters loses to Hardy, and the heel team in the main event loses. It's so boring watching all the faces constantly win. Nitro and Melina were the only heels to win and they were on a losing streak before that. Besides Helms every champion on every show is a face. Then at Wrestlemania we have to deal with 2 face vs face main events. I just get tired of seeing the same things over and over again. Orton and Edge are being buried. Orton always gets pinned it seems like. It seems like Khali and Umaga are the only heels getting pushed right now.

Same here dude. However I have a feeling that after No Way Out either Batista or John Cena are going to turn heel.

Orton's always getting pinned because of his backstage attitude, it's punishment. I don't know if he's gotten any better since his 60 day suspension (for smoking weed and getting caught by pat patterson I think), but if he's still the one getting pinned in all the triple threat / tag matches, probaly means he still is in the bad books with Vince. Orton was talked highly of having a title match with Cena, but Vince changed his mind to Shawn at the last miniute.

RAW was pretty good last night. And I would have loved to see my boy Randy face Cena for the belt, but consequences to come for mess ups I guess. Hey guess, I have a question, and please don't get mad.

Is Randy Orton gay? I mean, fans always say he's queer and most of the things the say are true about other wrestlers, and Randy is one of my favorite wrestlers. I am homophobic you see, but this won't change the fact that Randy is one of my favs, I guess. But it is one thing to watch a homosexual wrestling and another to be standing next to one. I just ask. I apologize if I have offended anyone.

Also, I wasn't a fan of Dusty Rhodes either, but I guess he deserves the induction.

Nah he's not gay. Maybe a closet gay, but definatly not open gay tounge.gif

He's a womaniser, one of the boy's, except he takes it too far. Like when Rochelle (From the Diva search) came to RAW on her first night and she met Orton, she didn't know who he was and that pissed Orton off, because some of the boy's ribbed him about it. The details from here a sketchy, but he did something very bad involving Rochelle's travelbag/suitcase. lol.gif Caused her to quit

If you search him on Google, you'll find almost naked pics of him lol.gif Those photo's Shawn and Hunter showed on RAW that one time wern't shopped, those were real tounge.gif

Everyone said that he took a sh*t in her bag, but he didn't. He did put a whole bunch of lotion of some kind and other things that made it kind of look that way. My source is from Randy Orton himself in WWE magazine a few months back.

Randy's not gay. He's a pretty boy and kind of Metrosexual. I put him and Johnny Nitro in the same boat.

Good Raw, any reason it was on Thursday?

Great to see Piper back on TV, I assume the surgery went well? I was also surprised to see Smackdown being portrayed as the superior brand with their teams decimation of the RAW team after the match was finished.

I think it was on Thursday because of the dog show USA has every year. I remember back in like 2000 or 2001 RAW was on a thursday because of that.

Sorry for the double post but no one has posted in here in a couple days. Anyway No Way Out is over and HBK/Cena defeated Undertaker/Batista.

I regret staying up till 4am watching NWO. It really was a pretty boring PPV to be honest dontgetit.gif . The main event was the only decent thing on the card. Ashley's boobs were also good, too ph34r.gif

Yeah cant wait to see the playboy pics of Ashley's shoot inlove.gif

Read the NWO results on the net, sounds like a lot of matches were made up last minute or had no benefit to further or future storylines. Poor ppv in my opinion.

Nah, I think that Trump is going to pick Mick Foley.

I think that WM 23 is going to be, as J.R. would say it "one for the ages".

Also, for those who didn't catch Raw, Umaga def. Jeff Hardy for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, Melina def. Mickie James for the WWE Women's Championship, Edge def. Rob Van Dam to qualify for the Money In The Bank Ladder Match at WM 23 after Randy Orton interfered, The Great Khali def. The Highlanders in a handicap match, Ric Flair & Carlito def. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch in a tag team match, and John Cena def. Randy Orton by DQ after Edge interfered. Shawn Michaels came to aid Cena, however after the match Michaels seemed as though he was going to attack Cena.

I can't wait until when John Cena & Shawn Michaels defend the World Tag Team titles against Rated-RKO next week. I feel that something interesting is going to happen between HBK and Cena....

Vince picked Umaga?! Umaga is way over rated in my books. Cheap rip-off of Samoa Joe. Anyways I heard somewhere that Bobby Lashley might represent Trump at WM 23.

Umaga is not a Samoa Joe ripoff. The only thing they have in common is that they're both Samoan. With the foreign savage gimmick, Umaga is more like a Kamala ripoff. Sadly, if Joe were in WWE, he'd probably be saddled with the gimmick.

I don't get the logic of putting the IC title on Umaga if he's not going to defend it at Mania. I was hoping Jeff would lose the title before Mania, but that was to get him either in the MITB, or let him team with Matt, so someone else could defend it, and hopefully lose to Super Crazy. I'm assuming the IC won't be on the line in this match. The last time that belt was defended at Mania was WM18, when RVD beat Regal.

I was assuming they would have 2 Raw, 2 ECW, and 2 Smackdown wrestlers in the MITB. I don't see Edge winning it again, and RVD wouldn't be going for the title, so I would've done Carlito and Kenny from Raw, RVD and Sabu from ECW, and Chavo and Booker from Smackdown. Maybe Jeff, Matt, or Crazy can still get in.

Another wrestling death to report: Mike Awesome. An ECW original, and he brought down the house against Masato Tanaka at the first One Night Stand. He was also That 70's Guy in WCW, and was briefly part of the InVasion, winning the first title for his side, taking the Hardcore Championship from Rhyno when he interfered in that match. They're saying suicide, but autopsy reports are still pending. RIP big guy.

Yeah, I saw that last night on a wrestling news site sad.gif I didn't really know him all that well because I rarely to never watched WCW and when I did watch ECW they'd be re-runs at like 4am in England and I didn't really know many wrestlers. I do remember him from ECW ONS, incredible match that really stole the show.

Also I don't think it'll be Foley with Trump, because there were reports that JBL might face Foley at WM a while back, and nothing has been reported otherwise since. Could of been scrapped and just not mentioned, though. Vince changes his mind alot as it was never reported that Umaga was in-line for his pick, but it happened anyway bored.gif

Even though Edge won his qualifying match I really do think that him and Orton will still be in a street fight at WM 23. I see Nitro and Jeff Hardy being the guys from RAW, CM Punk and Sabu from ECW, and Matt Hardy and Mr Kennedy from Smackdown.

With Umaga being Vince's rep, I have a feeling a legend will be Trump's rep. Either Hogan, Stone Cold, or possibly Mick Foley.

If Mr. Kennedy is in the match, I reckon he'll take it. Or CM Punk might, then he can jump to RAW or SmackDown! and take the belt. I just hope CM Punk gets off the sinking ship that is ECW quickly

Yes I agree, ECW is definitly going downhill. I can remember the last time I watch a full episode.

Also, I have alot of respect for Lashley and he is a great competitor, but he's a boring champion IMO. I mean, the guys voice is just boring and has no excitment.

I am hoping that Trump picks Stone Cold, I would love to see him in the ring again, but what are the chances of that happening?

And thanks for clearing the Orton situation up for me guys.

I wouldnt really compare Umaga with Samoa Joe, there are many differences with the main one being that Joe can actually wrestle and compete in great matches. This coming from someone (me) who has only seen brief clips of Joe on YouTube.

As for Wrestlemania matches, there was rumours Austin could face Hogan. I cant see it happening as neither would want to take the pin for the other and a draw or double count out would just p*ss off the fans.

lol.gif Hogan should take the fall. Austin > Hogan

Also who else found it funny that Vinny Jones got absolutly no decent reaction at the PPV? Haha, what a douche bag
