I think Filco do a white Majestouch, but I don't think it's brilliant white. You could probably customise it though, as most people with Filcos do.

http://www.keyboardc...-filco-contest/

This one matches your system nicely:

They're not cheap, mind you. My full size Majestouch 2 was about £130, and a full set of decent quality keycaps is £50+

The money that can be spent on keyboards is unreal.

yeah, i guess that all mechanical keyboards will be crazy expensive, but its like the only thing i never upgraded at all, i have a cooler master lite l (mouse+ keyboard) that costed 45$ on sale, not that i mind spending 200$ on a keyboard, but there was always something to do first. i like to buy stuff directly from the stores near me as i like to try stuff out first, but they are all the same, black and full of leds, and i still like the ROG claymore style but it doesnt look like anything on my white pc build, so the Horus GK2000 was something i could pick up in a couple of days, and it still matches the monitor/ speakers aluminium finish.
i dont understand mutch about mechanical keyboards yet, are all keys standard? @sivispacem will those white keys fit any mechanical keyboard or just that Filco?

any good sites to buy or mod keyboards? preferably in the EU :)
edit: reading some stuff on geekhack

10f20ca68df26f3e0a8bc2ddb53c63df.jpg

it also looks good in white/black keys (although this one is carbon white)

edit2: this one is growing on me :)

They're standard Cherry keycaps so they'll fit any board with standard Cherry switches. Both my Filcos are full size Majestouch 2s with Cherry Browns switches and the later embossed keycaps. I've been mooting ordering a selection of grey and brown keycaps to match my colour scheme.

The Filcos are expensive and come with literally no bells or whistles, but the build quality is incredible. Aluminium frame. Miles better than even the top end Corsair stuff.

anyone know another that has either white or brushed aluminium finish?

Corsair has a ton of brushed aluminum boards. The newer ones seem to be black instead of silver/gray so you may have to strip the anodizing and reanodize if you want the silver look. The keycaps were way too tall for me though.

That's where I bought from, except I didn't need to pay shipping because they're about a 20 minute drive from my house.

I've been salivating at the Tesoro Gram Spectrum for a while now. Too bad availability and prices are terrible but I still want one even though I don't really care about keyboards (but this one's the most beautiful I've seen yet).

I actually quite like that, though I question the rationale of "alternative" mechanical switch designs over Cherry's or higher end switches. They're almost exclusively so they can skimp on quality.

I don't have a lot of experience with mechanical keyboards so I can't say I care too much about switches. I think that design wise it's perfect for me (I guess this is what Apple fanboys feel like).

Also, people on YouTube seem to report positive things about the switches but I take it that you're also referring to their durability. I'm personally not too worried about that either. I mean it's not that expensive-it's kinda worth the gamble.

Looking at the structure they're Cherry clones, as used by lots of companies who used to use real Cherries, like Cooler Master. That's typically been seen as a cost-cutting measure though how much worse, if at all, the build quality is of the clones is open to debate.

There's also Topre switches, which are just crazy expensive, weird hybrids of a rubber done and mechanical designed to remove a lot of the typing noise.

Well I've decided to 'wall' mount the monitor to free up some valuable space. The extra real estate is amazing. Also picked up a new keyboard recently. I was looking for a minimalistic mechanical board with low profile keys with none of the gamer/RGB gimmicks and found the Cherry MX 3.0. Feels nice, and the low keys are an easy transition from my older board. I got lucky with a sale on the brand new board and palmrest for $40USD, couldn't pass it up!

Now I know it's sideways but it'll be in that position under my TV anyways! (Just built it)

Forgot to take pictures while building it but let's see if anyone can guess that graphics card underneath...

Cherry MX 3.0.

I had one of these at work until recently. Really good for the price, though red switches aren't exactly my favourite.

I didn't know they did blues on the 3.0 boards. Not that I could use blues at work anyway without someone throwing my keyboard out of the window.

I think the board gives you an option to choose. At least on Amazon you do. https://www.amazon.c...d/dp/B01I6DJT7C

I had no choice on mine though since it was from another vendor. I just saw the sale price and went for it. I wasn't even sure if I would be getting the US/International version because the seller put up photos of the German keyboard. I was hoping it was just a listing mistake, and thankfully it was.

US Amazon lets you choose, lucky beggars. UK Amazon has three separate listing and all are for red switches only models.

Hey sivispacem you really seem to know your keyboards.

I'm in the market for a new keyboard and cannot test out anything before buying and I'd have to ship from the UK because all I can get here are azerty keyboards. I just need something to type, not game, and I'd like something with a clicky feel but not too noisy. Would you recommend cherry mx browns?

Yes, Browns are ideal for that. For typing I would also recommend Topre switches but as I noted above they make for very expensive keyboards. A cheaper MX Brown keyboard can be had for ~£70, I've never seen a Topre switch keyboard under double that.

Though I noted above that Topres remove much of the typing noise, they still have a very unique sound which you either love or hate.

Just a backing board, not wall. The desk is just two tabletops with bookshelves on either side. One tabletop is flipped 90 degrees. Mounted it onto the existing table, and pulled the entire desk forward a bit so I could easily run wires behind it once the monitor was mounted.

Well I've decided to 'wall' mount the monitor to free up some valuable space. The extra real estate is amazing.

I have a question; what does the rest of your office room look like?
the cherry wood / leather headboard combo is awesome, but it's almost so dark that the space bleeds together. does it not ever get distracting working in such a 'dark' nook right next to a bright window? or is the rest of the room dark tones? it's super gangster though, otherwise. you should be smoking a wood pipe in that room

I'm used to doing so much color correction and video editing that I need everything around my view space to be very 'light' and neutral.
