Today is James Hetfield's birthday.. without this dude, we never would have had Metallica!

Rock on, Het!

I much prefer Metallica's earlier work, especially this song (Hit the lights, since my phone only posts the link):

Pitchfork streaming Pallbearer's new album. Sounds a lot better than the one that came out last month on NPR, it must have been a weird streaming issue. Sounds great.

Also, preordered myself the new YOB and Earth, so I'm going to have a heavy September.

Doesn't really require a bump but keeping the topic a float, a couple other things:

Saw Graf Orlock on Wednesday and it was amazing. Half way through Captives of the Thuggee they went into a cover of Dragonaut by Sleep who ironically I will be seeing Sunday. Great live band and a great surprise.

Today I bought tickets for Pig Destroyer's first ever Boston show which will be with Dropdead and Hivesmasher. I can't wait.

Saw Sleep on Sunday. Show was sold out. Heavy as hell. A pit started once the security started searching for weed smoke which was kind of lame. Sleep doesn't feel like the kind of band to mosh too. Other than that a great show. It's too bad all the merch sold the f*ck out before I could grab a shirt though.

Megadeth. Particularly Chris Poland/Gar Samuelson period.

If Slayer stopped at Seasons they'd be my favorite but my favorite is Anthrax of the 4. Megadeth should be replaced by Testament in the big 4.

Just ordered my 4 day pass for Maryland Deathfest. Excited for a hell of a lot of bands. Napalm Death, DRI, Ghoul, YOB, Razor, Melt Banana, Agoraphobic Nosebleed but the one I'm excited for the most by far is Sodom.

How about some doom up in here?

CONAN.

Saw these guys and Sea Bastard a few months back. My head is still reverberating.

SEA BASTARD.

Somewhat controversially, probably Anthrax. But then again I think the Teutonic mid period thrash scene was better than the US one. Sodom's "Agent Orange" and Mekong Delta's "The Principles of Doubt" being far better, IMO, than anything ever to come from the big 4.

Oh, you know I love doom. I just got the new Earth and Yob lps, and can't stop listening. This new Yob might be my favorite since they reformed.

I know this ain't going to impress anyone, certainly from looking at the last few pages, but I got my tickets to Desertfest 2015 booked, I'm finally going to see Sleep. It's only been nearly 20 f*cking years of waiting.

OH GOD I AM SO EXCITED. And Orange Goblin. That's all that's confirmed so far, that was enough for me to drop £200 on. My GF is a massive Om fan so we're hoping they'll add them to the bill, seeing as Al will already be in town!

Enjoy it, I'd love to check out Desertfest or Roadburn. Sleep was so great last weekend. They played Dopesmoker in its entirety, half of holy mountain, some sabbath covers, and their new song. It ruled so f*cking hard.

Conan was just added to the Maryland Death Fest lineup, and it all looks f*cking killer so far.

Conan will own. An.

Man. All of Dopesmoker? That's pretty much the greatest thing.

You guys have some great festivals there... Ours are total sh*t... This year's biggest festival, Rockwave Festival didn't even have Rock music! Just a bunch of alternative pop-rock pile of sh*t.

At the last minute I'll be going to see Skeletonwitch and Ghoul tonight. I'm stoked. Haven't seen Skeletonwitch headline yet and Ghoul is always awesome.

Let me know how it is. I've seen Skeletonwitch about 10-12 times since they're from Ohio (before they moved to LA) and I'd love to see Ghoul play.

MORE DOOM

That was a show I needed. Never heard of Black Anvil but I dug the hell out of their set. Not a black metal fan really but I really got into them.  Ghoul stole the f*cking show. They've added way more GWAR touches to their show. My Macho Man shirt is covered in fake blood now. Really fun show. Skeletonwitch killed as well and finally got to hear Baptized in Flames.

Thats a good purchase. I really missed out on Desertfest this year after I decided not to go, big mistake really. A friends band was playing and it turns out a load of people I knew were there. I missed a great party.....

In similar news, Fu Manchu anyone? Tour kicks off on the 24th of this month.

Hey guys!!! How are you doing??

I've just realised there was a Music / Metal section in GTAForums after getting bored and starting to check random forum posts.

Here's a song from my band, tell me what you think!!!

We were supposed to release our first album by NOW, but it got delayed, like 2 times since july..... I am angry as hell for my own cd delay and GTA V NG delay... but, whatever, hahahah.

Yup, we live in cities that belong to Madrid, like 20 minutes by train to the capital.

Thanks for checking my band out man :) I really appreciate it!
