Mastodon's album seems promising to me. Listened to their single High Road  and Asleep in the Deep and they're f*cking beautiful.

Any Dimmu fans out there? You know those who still accept the symphonic orchestra elements of their musical styling? I'm still one of them actually, though I know that their first and second albums were pretty much their best still. For some reason I dislike their In Sorte Diaboli but their current album, Abrahadabra is pretty great. And some news say their working on a new album.

This seems to be my favourite track of their Abrahadabra album:

Asleep in the Deep?? Do you mean Chimes at Midnight or another song? Where did you that if you don't mean Chimes at Midnight???

Oh, must have typo error or something. I was thinking of Chimes of Midnight as well, instead of their, another track of their album.

f*ck y'all who've been able to stream the new album; all I have is my phone and it would take forever to load that ish. :( Oh well, I'll be picking it up the day it releases. :^:

Oh and they were absolutely kick-ass when I saw them live last month. Gojira was great as well, unfortunately my friends and I arrived at the venue after Kvelertak had finished their set.

I definitely see the Jex Thoth comparisons. Time to fall back off the wagon, thanks Dylan Carlson!

Edit: Going to see Sleep next month in Chicago. Drone on, riffians.

It is pretty good. It's everything I had hoped the Hunter would be. Somehow makes the Hunter seem less mediocre, can't say how. Still not better than Crack the Skye, though.

I saw Neurosis at Tuska yesterday, and damn they were awesome! By far one of the best and most mind-blowing performances I have ever seen!

What are you guys' thoughts on Killer Be Killed? Besides Max Cavalera, I personally am in love with them. Troy's vocals are the ish yo :D

Edit: Ehhh.....Max isn't completely sh*t on this record, but he's nowhere close to how good he was in Sepultura(and I've never really listened to Soulfly so I can't really judge based on that) Nevertheless, this is the greatest album of the year(IMO), only thing that could top it for me would be Suicide Silence's new record. Eddie Hermida taking Mitch Luckers spot is the greatest thing that happened to this band.

Any Boris fans?

I love Boris, and they have such a huge live sound. That said, I'm having a hard time getting into their latest record. It's just way too much treble for me in the mix. It might have been loss from streaming it on NPR and Spotify though, I'm still going to buy it.

But man, this YOB though.

The Lazer/Wulf performance I saw was great. Super tight. The whole show was great, them, Blood Ceremony, Kylesa, and White Hills.

NEW SLEEP the first in 20 years. f*ck. I'm really happy to see Jason Roeder's on the drum kit, he's such a great pocket drummer.

We played with Sea of Bones last night, they were heavy as hell. This was their setup:

It was so loud it rattled my teeth.

The new Wolves in the Throne Room is f*cking great. It sure isn't metal but that's ok. It's got Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream and Vangelis written all over it.

New Overkill album is out, and to say they've reborn, is an understatement. Slayer is reforming, and sounding beyond bad-ass so far, working on next album I think.

Hammerfall is reforming. Waiting for any of them to show up in any of the western states......
