I love Halestorm's drummer. Their performance at the Golden Gods Awards was great, along with The Dillinger Escape Plan, Anthrax, Metallica, and Danzig.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to Chicago to see that.

A few of my buddies went to see Wreckmeister Harmonies in a cemetery over the weekend, and went to 3 Floyds afterwards. I was very jealous.

We might be playing with Weedeater when they come to town! I'm stoked if that happens. The Windhand show we played was f*cking awesome - they were heavy as f*ck. Last monday we played with Venomous Maximus, they were badass as well. Really riffy doom/stoner rock

Again, I'm sure many of you wouldn't find this metal enough, but Avenged Sevenfold officially announced their next album, Hail To The King, releasing August 27th!

Not all too fond of the artwork, but hearing the material so far, I won't be disappointed by the music.

For anyone who cares enough to listen:

First teaser:

Second teaser (better):

Third teaser (best):

While I am not a fan of that band, I wouldn't worry about how "metal" something is. Faith No More & Mr Bungle are 2 of my top 5 favorite bands.

Both of them aren't exactly Metal.

I really like this band, and their new stuff sounds like Morbid Angel.

A great band, pretty sure everyone here like them too, Spiros have the best Death Metal vocals ever.

Funny, I had a Septic Flesh signature last time I posted here. Speaking of that, this is my 1st post in 5 years.. time flies.

So, I get to go to Mayhem Fest next Sunday! biggrin.gif

I'm in the front, right up in front of the main stage. I'm so f*cking psyched! I've been preparing since May, and in that time, I've been able to make a battle jacket.

And more mainstream not-so-metal metal:

They tried making a more classic metal sound, and I like it. A lot. But I hope the rest of the album will be at least a little heavier.

Currently listening to Amorphis "Privilege Of Evil" EP. A nice blast from the past. The tape still plays quite well considering I bought it in the Spring of 1995.

Nah, going to Bolt Thrower instead.

When's that show?

May 29th. Bolt Thrower, Benediction, and Deathraid. I'll cut a mother f*cker to get a BT shirt.

tfw I want a Realms of Chaos shirt. tounge.gif

I love the original album cover because it happens to be from Warhammer 40k, my favorite tabletop game. Problem is, there are only bootlegs of the shirt.

TEAMROCK Radio in the UK managed to play the track 7 times in a row on the air...live. I think it caused quite a lot of angry listeners around the country. It hasn't been aired since, needless to say.

To answer the question of the topic description, Yes, I do have a bangover!

Mayhem was f*cking awesome! I got Amon Amarth to sign a copy of Revolver magazine, and I met them as well.

Hah, I had a bootleg shirt of 'In Battle there is no Law' from some dude in poland years ago, but turned it into a backpatch after the shirt started disintegrating.

I've begun screen printing patches for Grey Host, we're going to have some new shirts made (by me) by the time we play with f*cking Weedeater.

Anyone into old-school Anathema? Just rediscovered them recently and f*cking hell their new album is different. Has anyone got any doom metal suggests as I'm currently a bit out of the loop having not listened to it for about ten years tounge.gif I'm pretty interested in modern doom bands as i'd just like to see how the genre has progressed, but older bands are fine smile.gif

Check out Pallbearer for sure, they have a great old school doom sound - they remind me a lot of Asunder. Other entries: Moss, Conan, Bongripper, Graves at Sea, Buried at Sea, Ocean (not to be confused with The Ocean), Windhand, Weedeater, Cough, Yob

Even though I have known of Anathema since the early 90s, I don't think I ever checked them out. I might browse them on Youtube sometime starting with "The Crestfallen" and working my way up from there.

For now it's My Dying Bride and "The Manuscript" EP.

Awesome, sure thing. Postage shouldn't be too much since it can go into an envelope. PM me your address. We're also about to record a new single that should come out in September (I'm currently working on the artwork, so I'll post that up when it's done) and we've been working on new stuff for an album at some point.

Also, speaking of doom, have you guys checked out the new Subrosa track? It makes me excited for their new release: https://soundcloud.c...ubrosa-cosey-mo

Checked out that new Subrosa a few days back, damn good. Sucks it's gonna be their final album though. Also I wanna second Yob. One, if not the best live band I've ever seen. I've never seen anyone play a guitar with as much intensity as Mike does, completely mind blowing. Gonna see them for a third time in December.
