I was just trying to get the effect across. tounge.gif

Same thing here, the orange in my work was a little washed out, here is what I used to make it stand out more

Orange Layer->Overlay:

Duplicate the Layer with the overlay effect, change the top one to 68 opacity:

Spinning avatars are made in software like Xara 3D, which is very easy to use and includes good 3D and pre-set animation options, and it's cheap, though it can be obtained even cheaper.

I'm not aware of any websites which generate rotating images.

Here is a tutorial that can help you get started in creating them, if you just feel like you are not ready for it, then just request and it will be done.

PSDTuts. They have loads of great tutorials which are arranged into categories under the tutorials menu, covering everything from Illustration to Text Effects, they also have a whole series of tuts aimed purely at beginners. Some are for premuim members which let you download the source files, but the majority are public and very easy to follow. Helped me alot when I was starting.

Abduzeedo also has great tuts, but their insipration section is great for when you're ready to try stuff on your own.

Cheers matey, but was looking more for personal recommendations of specific tutorials that members have used, which have taught them a lot of photoshop techniques, such as the effects that can be done and all the filters that can be added. As I said, I never have any inspiration when I open PS, so never know what to search for on tutorial websites.

@Narcis: Not a big fan of the fire that you added, just doesn't seem to blend in too well.

Just browsing on google helps me, combining styles can get some amazing unique results.
And about the flames, just re-created the whole image using after effects:

That's actually some really awesome work there, Narcis. I think that was my issue with the still image, that the flames looked too flat and just didn't blend in, but that video is perfect.

That TT is coming along well. I long for the ability to 3D model but don't have the time to invest into learning right now

Is CS6 worth it, is it a major change from CS5?

Wait, what?! Hasn't CS5 only just come out, like, a few months ago now? Best thing to do, VL, is to read through a few sites and see what new features CS6 has over CS5, or watch some videos and whatnot. If it's not stuff that really affects the work you are aiming to achieve, then just forget it.

Not really. I like it, though. I wouldn't say it's a totally "major" change but a couple of thing's are different.

Download the beta and test it out for sixty day's... that's really the only way you're going to find out if you prefer it or not. smile.gif icon14.gif

Butters 2011, Yeah I checked out some features and I really liked the auto-save option.

Method, Who says I am buyin it? devil.gif tounge.gif

Done this in CS5, really proud of it.

Beware, the larger version is gigantic! That's why I did the thumbnail a bit larger.

That look's nice, Vertical. I agree with kmlwin; the burst effect would really go with the effect. Nonetheless - it's good. smile.gif

Did this last night for anyone requesting a BFBC2 blank background. icon14.gif
