Yesterday I also picked up....

Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains - The Big Eyeball in the Sky

user posted image

Track listing:

1."Buckethead" – 5:56
2."Thai Noodles" – 3:35
3."Tyranny of the Hunt" – 4:54
4."Elephant Ghost" (Instrumental) – 10:01
5."Hip Shot From the Slab" – 3:51
6."Junior" – 4:21
7."Scott Taylor" (Instrumental) – 6:15
8."The Big Eyeball in the Sky" – 4:35
9."Jackalope" (Instrumental) – 3:46
10."48 Hours to Go" – 4:14
12."Ignorance is Bliss" – 4:16

A great album. I've been needing a good dose of something funky lately and I got it with this album. Les Claypool and Buckethead together are sick. Claypool can do no wrong in my book, so far at least.

Hot Club De Paris - Drop It Till It Pops

i don't have a picture anywhere of it. and it's not by the django reinhardt/stephane grapelli jazz outfit in case any of you were wondering. they're a leeds based band sort of in the same vein as the futureheads but way more intricate. 13 tracks and the whole thing's over in just above half an hour but they fit some unbelievable stuff into the smallest space possible. and it has the genius track sometimesitsbetternottostickbitsofeachotherineachotherforeachother

Yesterday I bought Gatsby's American Dream's self-titled album.

I'd pretty nifty.

I haven’t actually bought an album for ages, maybe even this year but the last one given to me (birthday present) was Late Registration by Kanye West.

I picked up Tenacious D - The Pick of Destiny on saturday. It's pretty cool. Cameos from people like Dave Grohl, Meat Loaf, and Ronnie James Dio. It was the Deluxe Edition so it came with a poster of JB and KG flying on the back of Sasquatch, a set of D tarot cards, And a replica pick of destiny.

1. Kickapoo
2. Classico
3. Baby
4. Destiny
5. History
6. The Government Totally Sucks
7. Master Exploder
8. The Divide
9. PapaGenu (He's My Sassafrass)
10. Dude (I Totally Miss You)
11. Break In-City (Storm The Gate)
12. Car Chase City
13. Beelzeboss (The Final Showdown)
14. POD
15. The Metal

Overall, It's on par with the self titled album. My favorite songs so far are, Kickapoo, Classico, Master Exploder, Beelzeboss, and the Metal. Beelzeboss being on the top of that list, with Dave Grohl returning as the demon. I can't wait until Wednesday to see the movie.

The last one I paid for was The Distillers - "Coral Fang". I love that album and had wanted it for a really long time, just couldn't find it at the local CD shop.

Just picked up Efterklang's Tripper. The review quotes on the front say a whole bunch of sh*t about ghosts and Sigur Ros. They're pretty much spot on. So basically it sounds like the ghosts of Sigur Ros playing spooky electronic stuff. I suppose.

Picked up Trail of Dead's So Divided and Sufjan Steven's Illinois a couple days back.

Illinois is pretty amazing, So Divided's not their best, but still got a few solid track on it.

Oh man, f*ck that. That stuff rots your brain. It's like being repeatedly punched in the back of the head by a kid on a sugar and helium high... at 300 beats per minute. Every time I hear it seems to be blasting out of a hideously lumpy and fluorescent hatchback with seven or eight scowling neanderthals with their knees at their chins in the back. I'm not usually this critical of entire genres of music, but I genuinely believe it has the potential to lower your I.Q.

aye in days gone by i would agree with you and still do to a certain extent but if you've experienced it on certain shall we say 'mood enhancers' then good god it becomes quite different. Ironically enough I detest most chav scum, have long hair usually wear combats and a RATM tshirt and drive a puile of rust. haha, neds look so confused when they see me driving by blaring out 'their' music.
Of course there is much more 'intelligent' electronic music out there. Psy Trance for one my other recent CD buys:

Infected Mushroom, Converting Vegetarians very underground rave scene.
