I love the fact you can sprint with rifles and shotguns

I hate the fact that Toni can't crouch

Well, the crouching was a problem. If they couldn't make it happen in the PSP version then it should've been added to the PS2 version. confused.gif

Sprinting with heavier guns is useful.

The thing I liked was the numerous amount of gangs.

The thing I didn't like was there were no helis or planes and there wasn't a lot of things to spend your money on.

I loved that it was a return to the best GTA city, Liberty, and added alot of features from Vice and some from San Andreas. I liked the story, charecters, and new areas. I didn't like the fact that the music was still like GTA 3, despite the major success of the series. Sometimes it felt like they didn't add things like that because they wanted to add it later, like in VCS. Toni is the man, even without Madsen, which is surprising. The other guy did a good job. Maria's voice was horrible though. She acted NOTHING, nor SOUNDED anything like her GTA III and San Andreas counter part.

i liked how they added vehicles from vice city and you could sprint with huge weapons. What i disliked what the fact that they didn't really put a lot of features in it. It was sort of similar to gta3 and we were all hoping for better things in the game but it was mostly similar. bored.gif

I am almost certain that the idea for LCS came when someone at rockstar games suggested "Let's re-release GTA3 for the PSP only this time with features from vice city" and it took off from there.

The good things about this game:
Liberty city revisited
Liberty City motercycles
the player is a really cool cat
excellent graphics
running with heavy weapons
awesome missions

The bad things:
No easily accessable helicopters
No crouching (wtf?)
PISS-POOR radio station music
the same old issue with the back of shoreside vale and the big hole (really hoped we'd have that area make a little more sense)
Too damn short!

Love:
Sprinting with heavy weapons

Liberty city with a slightly different look

Motorcycles

New Cars

Good weapon selection

Hate:
No Helicopters accessible without cheating

Poor free aim system. Nice for the limited PSP, but PS2 version should have used San Andreas aiming system.

Radio stations have poor music compared to VC and San An.

Being unable to swim sucks

EDIT: added a couple things

Love:

- New Cars

- The Hud (It looked a bit sleeker)

- The agressiveness of the police (This is challenge I've been wanting all these years!)

Hate:

I have to agree with mentalstampede about the helicopters and aiming...

No swimming, No crouching, No climbing (They were some of the best additions to GTA ever!)

To me, this game is a big letdown, especially since I recently finished SA.

I understand LCS is for a much smaller 'console', but if this is the 1st GTA for PSP, shouldn't it be some sort of showpiece, and not a seemingly re-issued version of GTA3?

I don't know if it's been said already, but I hate Toni's bike skills. He easily falls off the bike and there's no way to improve that. He was never comparable to CJ on this aspect. mad.gif

I love returning to the city that started it all (in 3D) it has a great look, is still being developed in some places but still has that dark and realistic feel to it.

All GTA games have some sort of draw back and I'm sure I could list a few especially LCS but why bother? I'd rather enjoy the game on its own merits.

I hated the storyline the most. It was boring. No climax, no surprises, just a whole bunch of "stories" (maybe that's what R* intended, but it didn't work well for me dontgetit.gif )

There is more than 1 asset in the game, you unlock more when you complete the Pizza and Noodle delivery missions.

Like saintdave said, I just enjoy the game the way it is. Sure there is lots of things that could of made it better, but its an enjoyable game anyway, why look down on bad things in it?

There are more assets to unlock. The Donald Love media garage, the bike shop, the punk noodle stand and the pizza shop all become assets.

Well, I'm nearly certain it became an asset. Can't remember now. You've put doubts in my mind. biggrin.gif

But the bike shop, the punk noodle shop and the pizza shop definitly are. Along with the car showroom, as you pointed out.

I don't know how fair it is to compare PS2 and PSP games on level ground; even the PS2 port of LCS is what it is - a port. LCS was designed to be GTA on the go, and for that goal it succeeded immensely.

Toni is awesome. There are enough elements of Vice's and SA's advances in the GTA experience to make it not just a GTA3 clone. The radio was indeed a disappointment, although a few changes when certain events happen a la SA was a nice touch. I dig the hitmen coming after you, as easy as they are to kill, and the police aggressiveness mentioned earlier is a big plus. It sucks you can't swim or climb, but at the same time, that's what made SA a bit too easy at times (yet still very fun).

There was only one thing I hated.

Most of the cutscene animations.

Cutscenes are supposed to have them moving around and acctually moving their mouth. However, most of LCS's cutscenes were... How should I put this. Cheap feeling.

Other then that, best portable for it's time. wink.gif
Although it's gotta make room for VCS now. biggrin.gif
