GTAIII Secrets and Easter Eggs

#1"You Werent Supposed ..."
Maybe the oldest easter egg from the GTA3 Trilogy. Behind the Projects/Liberty Tree buildings there is a hidden sign that says :
"You werent supposed to get here you know"
#2Donald Love, Cannibal?
In one of Rays missions (name unkown for me) you have to destroy proofs that shows that Donald Love was in a Morgue Party eating bodies. Also in LCS there is a mission where you kill Avery Carrington and take the body to him so he can eat it
#3Sex Club 7
Luigi's brothel/strip club is called the Sex Club 7. It's a reference to an old group called "Club 7"
#4Toni's LCS Safehouse:
Toni's safehouse from LCS is under demolition in GTA3. It has been confirmed to get destroyed in GTAAdvance
#5The Simpsons reference:
Toni Cipriani , the Leone Capo is a reference out of Tony, the "The Simpsons'' mobster. They share the same eyes and physics. Also Toni's "problems" with her mother are the same as Principal Skinner has in the same series.
#6Sea Caves ( Discovered by Demarest ):
North Portland there are a set of caves you can actually enter. It can only be accessed by boat. It goes downwards so at the end you are like underwater! Becareful though . Water can be Mortal to Claude (player).
#7Charter Liberty Lines Strike Back!:
The same boat that is found in all (including GTA 1 and excluding GTA2) the GTA Series is back on Portland Docks. What a shame that it gets blown up by 8ball in a shootout
#8Group Sechs:
If you notice the Securicar from GTA3/GTAVC has a logo sponsory Group Sechs. If you pronounce it it sounds like "Group Sex"
#9Ghost Town:
In the starting cutscene you see remodeled tarbush cafe cups in the floor. Also this piece of street can be accesed with a dodo. If you are skilled enough you can get by the back of the hills and reach the "Ghost Town" . Unfortunatly it isnt solid.
#10Open Porter tunnel by the start of Game:
While you are in Portland misisons and Staunton is locked the tunnels are working between SSV and Staunton. But as soon as you unlock Staunton the tunnels get closed. Weird Huh? mercie_blink.gif
#11Top Down City:
In Bedford Point you can see an ad sponsoring Top Down City. TDC was a game that was made by the time of GTA2 that was more or less like GTA1.
#12Chuck Swartz:
Chuck Swartz is a very famous actor in Liberty by the time of GTA3 . His ads are on the subway, the city and Bedford point. He is a joke/reference out of Arnold Swartzenneger.
#13 9/11 on GTA
The blue police cars, Twin Towers at Fort Staunton and Darkel where eliminated of the game adter the famous 9/11 Terrorist attacks. They added Rampages instead of Darkel, black police cars and they deleted the Twin Towers (i found this on google) that they had added in Fort Staunton adding a construction zone.
#14Fort Staunton Remains:
By the Staunton Hospital there are walls that are supposedly "remains" of the LCS' Fort Staunton. Fort Staunton gets destroyed by the end of LCS in a way of eliminating Forellis.
#15"El Burro" :
El Burro is back. He was a caracter in GTA1 and he is back as the Diablo boss. He is never seen but there is a drawing of him in several GTA3 Pics
#16"El Burro Mags":
After you Complete "Big N' Veiny" mission from "El Burro" some porno magazines are delivered to your hideout.
#17Words on Radar:
If you go north after SSV hills for long time you'll see words on the radar. This is Rockstars' way of signing their work. rahkstar2.gif
#18 Dodo numbers:
On the Dodo's rear it sais " Y-ME 369" . Y-ME goes for "Why me?" and 369 goes for 69. A sexual from.
#20Places to see in the dodo:
There are several cool places to visit while on the Dodo. One of them is Donald Loves' Roof. Or Kenji's Garden. Also the Stadium in a topdown view and the Ghost Town are cool places to see.
#21War Memorial:
In SSV Airport there is a war memorial . It reads "For all those who fought for freedom in the 1939 war, Showing Nazi Soldiers .
#22Cutscene failure?:
In the starting cutscene there is a black patriot. But there's nobody driving the patriot. Maybe another ghost car for the GTA Series?
#23Previous GTA Games:
In the cyber cafe in Staunton there are computers with pics of the previous GTAs. GTA2 on the right and GTA1 on the left. I hope on GTA4 we get the same tounge.gif .
#24"Learning to fly"
In Bedford point there is a billboard that reads: "Learning to fly".
"Learning to Fly" is the title of a Pink Floyd song from the early 90's.
#25"That wasent there before!"
Sometimes when you put the replay things arent the same in the replay. Car hoods get on/off and fires get extingished.
#26"Godfather references"
The GTA worlds' Leone family is an imitation or a reflect of the Corleone family from "The Godfather" movie. As you see Don Salvatore is a GTAed version of Don Vito and Joey Leone is a GTAed version of Don Vito's son, Michael Corleone.

A proof of this is that they removed the "Cor" from "Corleone" and left only "Leone". Another one is that Joey doesnt get too involved with the mob as his father does and he tries to remain "clean". He uses the Forelli as a punching bag for "releasing" his anger against his father. After Don Vito dies in the series Micheal Corleone attempts to "clean the family". Although when Salvatore dies we dont hear anymore of the Leones. Would they had the same ending?
#27"Kipriani"
A funny one! When joey introduces you Toni he knows how to say cipriani but later on...
Cipriani video

#28"Manhunt reference"
A guy here posted:
QUOTE
im still trying to figure out how rockstar hide a new game's information in a previous game (like in GTA3 referring to Vice city, in Vice city referring to SA),

Well i agree because in Lips 106 you hear Andy say:

QUOTE
" A good day for law and order , Carcer city police chief Gary Shaeffer has been cleared of corruption charges. Lets hope those missing witnesses turn up safe and sound!"

GTA3 is based on 2001, Manhunt on 2003. In GTA3 , Gary Shaeffer was cleared of corruption charges. In Manhunt , the same thing happens when the game ends.

SPOILER WARNING:

Manhunt Game Ending Video on YouTube

Well , Manhunt was released years after GTA3 and here is a Reference to Manhunt.

Nice guide, thanks. Just got a couple of questions.

re: #5
Surely Tony Soprano was the obvious influence for Toni Cipriani? Another italian mobster famous for his "mother issues"..?

re: #6
Where are the sea caves, exactly? I'm pretty sure I've visited them before, once, but couldn't find them north of Portland.

You can land on some dumpsters on the ghost-town, they seem to be the only solid part of it. It also says something random on the radar if you follow the road marked on the radar near the ghost town. Note that there isnt actually a road, you fly over the water. Although once you fly to the end of the map the game freezes.

err dude, read #13 & #14 both carefully. You'll find out that the twin towers were never in GTA3.

Thanks for making the list! I'd tweak the one about the statue, though.
The war memorial says: "For those who fought for freedom. 1936." The guy
with a traffic cone on his head may be meant as a soldier of the fictional
Australian/U.S.A. war mentioned by a caller on "Chatterbox" in "III" and an
Ammu-Nation commercial in "Vice City." (1936 is too early for the U.S.
involvement in WWII.)
http://img165.images...creen963up5.jpg

Some of the SA secrets are also secrets for "III":

The # on 8 Ball's prison outfit (see the paper map for "III") is part of the
phone # for his bomb shop in Los Santos and the NYC Rockstar area code. (Thanks
to BlOoDStReAm101.)
http://img232.images...creen935tf8.jpg
http://img221.images...eenvc231or8.jpg
http://www.take2game...global_contacts

The Angel Pine Sawmill in SA is shaped the same as the one in Portland in
"III." (Thanks to Mogyle.)
http://img126.images...1screen62hu.jpg
http://img126.images...screen6a0lc.jpg
http://img126.images...1screen72tq.jpg
http://img126.images...screen7a0fb.jpg

I found a couple:

In "III," catacorner to the SW corner of the multi-story parking garage of
Staunton, one of the messages of an electric sign with moving letters is that
shares of "MADD" are up 76%, which may refer to the success of Madd Dogg contin-
uing beyond the end of "San Andreas."
http://img406.images...retsiii12th.jpg
http://img139.images...creen916eq4.jpg

The name of a "San Andreas" set of missions, "Learning to Fly," is on a bill-
board in Staunton in "GTA III." (In the screen shot, look to the right of the
tail of the Maverick.)

It's a way a "spoiler" can be handled--you can run your cursor over the blacked-out parts to make the letters appear as an option. The way everybody shares what they find in the files, in-joke references, etc., for GTAs, I never think about spoilers.

Glenster!

1.) 1936 is too early for WWII - period - given Hitler didn't get the ball rolling until 1939.

2.) "Learning to Fly" is also the title of a Pink Floyd song from the early 90's. It's also the title of a tune by Foo Fighters from this decade...

ive never noticed this trick on any sites before, so i don't know if its well known
but there is a trick/glitch on the firetruck missions
if you start the misson and wait for the text to go away press F1 twice to go into replay and return to gameplay,
and it will say fire extingushed! so you can just keep doint that until you have more money(like you use it in gta 3)
or what have you

soo i was just throwing that out there
and there are the other obvoius things with replay like if you have a stalion or stinger and you wan't the top down you just
go into replay and back until you get it,
same applys for anything that can change for the same vhecle type in the game

new easter egg (i thought):

when i listen to the chatter box outside the game, there is one ad said something something about a geman named "Han", who was a DJ for SF-UR radio station in San Andreas... although they didn't say he was a DJ anymore... it's around 25mins in CHAT.WAV...

im still trying to figure out how rockstar hide a new game's information in a previous game (like in GTA3 referring to Vice city, in Vice city referring to SA), so we would find some details in SA about GTA4 probably?

BTW, is this "Novy" player model? I`ve tried to swap novy.dff with player.dff, but model was "strange" (with some cubes on player head)

Why yes it is Novy. You can thank our beloved Ka-BOOM for not only sharing the working files with us, but even going so far as to document exactly why it doesn't work and why her files do. Link to more info.

This is more of a little detail I just noticed than a secret. I'd always
thought the electric signs in "III" were a little off in giving the time:
http://img205.images...creen974gf1.jpg

This one gives the right time:
http://img85.imagesh...creen975lg0.jpg

(I used gtadude1's mod of Robert De Niro as Travis Bickle in "Taxi Driver" for the lead player.)
