Hey loco G... Is there any gun/clothes/food/etc shop in your mall that you can actually use?

I'm just a lowly lot modeller, not a mission scripter (unless you count VC weapons pick-ups and hidden packages).

There are clothing and food outlets in Brownwater, no gun shop though, but what you're asking for is up to the number crunchers who will eventually make a game out of what we've done.

I personally was thinking of a Sanchez checkpoint challenge.

I got some ideas. As Vice had a mall and it had few uses, and as SA didnt have one , and it badly needed one (with all the purposes of it!).

So u can add rc rces in a rc shop and food, guns ,clothes.

Dear Gods no. RC is quite possibly the worst idea implemented in GTA ever. They are more boring, lame and utterly stupid then anything I have ever encountered in a game before. I can accept that GTA isn't supposed to be 100% realistic, but damn it RC is just horrible.

I quite like the RC race on the beach in Vice City. Different people like different things. Good thing about MISA's mission architecture is that players can choose to leave alone the things they don't like and play with the things they do like instead. smile.gif

How about using the RCs for bomb disposal missions, as an offshoot from the vigilante missions.

Like some kind of remote detination robot.

I have a kind o' "brainstorm" for the rc shop, implementing all of your ideas:

There is a RC shop , you enter it and theres a guy in the cashier and a marker infront of him. There you start cycling around the 3 different RC cars, and the 2 different modes for each other (just like the VC ammunation!).

The modes/toys are:

RC CAR

Rampage (GTA3 style)
RC Racing Circuit (GTAVC style)

RC GOBLIN (heli)

RC Checkpoint
RC World war III (like the last of Zero's missions)

RC BARON

RC FidEx Rumpo Shootout! (just like the one in zero's after you finish the asset.)
RC Race

RC Destruction! (only after you finsih 1st on all races!)

RC Car destruction Derby!
Shooting Barons from roof
Avery's RC Destruction zone (pick up bombs to destroy a building)

Welcome back loco biggrin.gif your shopping centre have a stand like the one in VC? ''Win an andatura'' colgate.gif
for the RC mision I agree the idea of races, and the infiltration mission can be interesting. My second lot have a RC shop, and a door with a sing: ''playground'' if anyone can do a race track, we can link it.

Someone likes my Andatura!

I gotta finish that.. I hate texturing!

BTW, there's probably one going to be placed ontop of my casino. What I have planned is you can go to the roof to do whatever, and there is this big arrow sign saying you can win the car. But, the sign also has a ramp in it, so you can jump off the casino!

i''ve now almost finished the entrance of my new building its looking better and better. And it may get a bit out of hand with the glass but im sure it wont have any more windows in it then it has now. maybe the lift shaft will be from glass to but im thinking of just keeping it simple with some small glasses in it.

for the people who can view the following link let me know what u think. if it asks for installing a viewer press yes.

Ok, I hosted it on my website:

http://www.alexglabs...LLCOM_C9_R6.rar
When you finish, the map can be updated with my release.

The RAR archive contains the DFF, TXD, MAX scene with BMPs, only COL file of the model and the ILLCOMNE COL file updated with my lot COL.

i had a play with Alexg's lot and after a lot of messing about i got it lit ..............

user posted imageuser posted imageuser posted image

this is a nice little lot, it just needs some generics and maybe a fence around the edges and a lod, also most sports centre's tend to have a multi use football/basketball court so maybe overlay a basketball court on the soccer tex and recycle the basketball hoops from SA or from Jfifi's MI fire station, other than that this is a really nice low poly addition to Myriad biggrin.gif

@Aad: im liking the 3D viewing of your model, it makes a nice change from the usual flat 2D previews of lots, there have been many times i've wished i could move the model to see the other side. smile.gif .................. sanity is for sheep yawn.gif

Welcome back loco, it's good to know you got your PC problems sorted out wink.gif

Rawr that really does looks nice and clean, nice textures good layout and yes the generic objects really need to finish it of. Good work Gforce by putting it in an AlexG nice contribution to the mod go on modeling i would say next time maybe use the space u got a litle bit more add as much detail to a lot as you can to crank up the quality. tounge2.gif tounge2.gif

Nice work Alexg. I can't wait to see it in game for myself. That goes for all recent lots and any newly converted by Gforce.

I was going to prelight your lot, but I could never seem to get the download link to work and Gforce beat me to it. Well done that man.

Cran: Great stuff. I like the detail on the bonnet (hood).

Sod the bloody poly-count, for now, things can always be optimised later.
There are two great modifiers in Max ('Optimise' and 'MultiRes') for this purpose (sorry to keep banging on about Max).
For one thing, when used wisely, they're great for basic .LOD work.

One final rumination , and this is not a dig at any car modeller/s what so ever (least of all you, Cran), after all I have no right to do so...

Modelling 'sporty' looking cars is popular (what a supprise).
Apart from the 'Linerunner', who wants to remodel the 'five door hatchback', the 'family saloon (sedan)', the twenty year old 'Fo*d P.O.S.', or the baggage cart?

For instance, to get around my lot in game I've been using the 'fourwheelfun' cheat to spawn the quad bike.
Come on someone, you know you want to. Remodel it for MI.

If you read this Cerbera , how about a new handling file so that it feels less like a faster golf buggy (unless you've already done one, I'm sorry to say, I've been too busy to install your handling mod).

PS: Sorry, yet again, this should have been posted in the 'Myriad Vehicle Discussion' topic, but I initially wanted to compliment Cran on his PPT post.

PPS:
After aad posted his interactive PPT, I've been looking into VRML posts of future work.
If I do show any, I'll make sure that they are Firefox+generic VRML plugin compatible and, to please everyone, post .JPGs too.
