Suggestions? Decent road and pavement texutres. Use the ones that are used all over the real roads.

kaaspizza: Good work.
As aad says, it's a nice, clean looking lot. The library steps I like, they're an interesting shape.

I do have one suggestion. I think that the sign need some work.
Just the word 'Library' isn't really realistic.
Why not 'GTI Municipal Library' funded by 'MI+GTI City Council' with The Myriad logo.
My cities libraries have the local council logo splashed all over them.

Jost_Vice: It looks as if your new lot is coming together.

I do have one suggestion for the sign. Why not make the logo larger to fill the space between the two lines of text.

PS. My new PC arrives tomorrow. I'll be up and running again by thursday and I'll PM you your first lot release then.

not any more, that screeny is 100% Max, i originally had texturing problems in Max with the new road section so i exported and corrected them in zmod but when i reimported things went wobbly again so i completely remade the road section again last night in Max (after fixing tex path problems) and all is now fine smile.gif

i'm going to be having some fun next making the "sweep"ing tunnel biggrin.gif

on a side note both my released lots were also designed and constructed originally in Max, i simply found it easier to texture and manipulate polies in zmod. you dont think you get hi-quality 3D sign's and staircases in zmod did you ? happy.gif

btw ...... can your lot do this ?

But excuse me, usually when I make a map I use the Multi Sub/Object, not the balls happy.gif
Can I add some extra balls from the Material Editor?

Yes... if you install the Kam's scripts they will add a new type of material, GTA Material.

Just a little message to say...

I'm back in business

My new PC is here. Much faster, quieter (my network hub makes more noise) and a half decent GPU (Nvidia 'poo off a stick').

Now, at last, I can get back to MI modding.

kaaspizza: Nice start though it looks a little lonely right now.

Cran: Us Max users have it all on a plate, thanks to Kam.
Download the free G Max from Turbo Squid and take a look.
You can still model in any piece of software you like, export, then import into Max and convert to MI-SA.
However, Max is by far the best low-poly modelling software there is. That's why everybody uses it.

PS: Sorry, I couldn't find the 'general discussion' topic, so I posted here (at least I posted some WIP pics).
PPS: Where's AleXXX? Hey, if you read this, I hope you get your new PC soon. All the best.

Welcome back loco! What model nvidia card is it? tounge.gif

Yeah, I might take a look at that later, I probably should learn how to get my sh*t ingame sooner or later. It's just making sure everything's right and exporting it with that script, right?

You should render the models in 'perspective' view, now in 'user' because it makes them look awful. Also render with a dark/mid grey background and a skylight with shadows usually helps. In other news, I don't know if I will be finishing my lot at the moment, i've ran into a few problems, but i'll post some other news about it in the next few weeks.

Alexg: IMO, that's far from being finalized. I might even say, in the state it's in right now, it's a nice basic concept sketch. I'm sorry if that sounds a bit harsh, but I do believe it needs a lot more work.

aad: Your interior looks like it has a good setup. I also like the exterior. If you want, I got some ideas while watching your model, just PM me a shout if you're interested.
